Newbie, please help!

We are starting to plan our second big (9 of us!) family Disney vacation for 2009. I was looking around the DW site and, if I'm reading this right, saw that doing 3 rooms at POFQ during regular season (what we did last year) is pretty much the same price as a 2 bedroom villa at OKW during Value season. So we wanted to try and get some info on this. Is it possible to book one of these villas during the 1/1-2/13 season? Do we rent from Disney or rent points? I'm so confused! lol

Even though we would be pretty crammed, with myself and dh, our 4 dc - 10, 8, 4 and 1 - my parents and my sister, if it's possible we would much prefer to all be in one space than trying to work with 3 separate rooms.

OKW is available to be booked through CRO and you pay Disney directly. You'll get daily housekeeping if you book direclty through Disney. If you want the dining plan, you'll have to purchase a package.

Or you could rent a reservation from a member, get very limited housekeeping, but be able to purchase the dining plan without doing a package. You have to be willing to give up any control over the reservation to the member who owns the points. You won't be able to confirm it with Member Service, you won't be able to call MS for any reason at all.

If you decide to rent a reservation, make sure you read all the sticky threads at the top of the Rent/Trade Board before you post.

The first two weeks of Jan could be difficult to get this late. Most members book their reservations at 11 months ahead of time.

One more note about OKW - there are only three buildings with elevators and they are usually given to guests with medical needs. All the rest only have stairs to get to the upper floors.

Deb gave you most of the information, but be advised that you probably wont want to do 9 in a 2 bedroom unless one of them is a very young child under 3.
