Newbie planning DCL

Hello there-newbie here. I just became DVC and anxiously awaiting password to get into website. I'm already planning our first DCL using banked points and borrowing points. Does anyone know when how far in advance cruises can be booked? I'm looking at some time in 2008.

Also, when is the members cruise? Is it the same time each year and what are the costs (similar to other cruises?).

Welcome, DCL is not good use of your points but they are your points to do as you want. Have a great cruice.

I have read several posts stating that DCL is not a good use of points. But--we won't be able to go until 2008 due to previous vacation plans for 2007. DCL is definitely our next Disney trip, so we'll try it.

Any recommendations on when they can be booked or other advice?

You can book 2008 cruises now. We have one booked for Sep 27 2008. You can bank 2007 points into 2008 and borrow 2009 points to 2008 for your cruise if you want to. The thing to remember is that once you book points for DCL, they become reservation points and if you should need to change your mind, you can't put the points back into the regular pool for DVC property, you will have to use them for other than DVC, like the regular WDW resorts or DCL.
