Hi Everyone,

We may be planning a trip to Disneyland, and I dont know where to start! While Im familiar with Disneyworld, the Land is new to me. We are budget minded, and its just hubby and I - maybe 3-4 days???? Thoughts, suggestions? Any hotels to recommend or to warn me about?

Thanks so much! Wendy:thumbsup2

Hi, Wendy, welcome to the left coast! :welcome:

A great place to start is Hydroguy's Tips compilation, a sticky thread at the top of this forum: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

He has several threads in there for WDW vets, to compare the differences with DLR.

Also be sure and read his "Hotel Rule" thread; it has helpful links to maps of local hotels.

One of the favorite hotel deals with DL'ers is HoJo, because with an entertainment book card, you can get a standard room for $59 a night or deluxe for $74 a night. It's the nicest hotel on Harbor within walking distance. Here's a link with info: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

There's some info to get you started! Hope that helps. Any questions, post back-- this is the nicest bunch of DIS'ers you could hope to meet!

Welcome to the DLR board. :hippie:

Inside HydroGuy's essential tip threads (that Avalon has posted) is his "DLR for WDW Vets thread". imo, this thread is especially helpful for DLR newbies:

Then read all the rest of his tip threads in Avalon's link. (Might want to print out the "abreviation page" for easier research)

Also, check out MaryJo's excellent sticky:

Staying at a Harbor Blvd. motel/hotel (like Hojo's or 6-8 others) within walking distance of the DLR front gates gives you the BEST experience (w/o shuttles etc.) at a great value. (Totally UNLIKE WDW.... where staying "on-site" is the only way to go.)

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's park. :thumbsup2

:)
