Hi all! First I just wanted to say that I have been reading these boards for the past week and the info that I have gotten has been wonderful. I am leaving on May 29 and couldn't be more excited. What vital info do I need to know going during Memorial Day? We will be there until June 4 (It's our Honeymoon!!!) Also, has anyone stayed at All Star Sports? Please send comments my way about it.

ps- Please bear with me, I'm trying to learn all the abbr. for words.

Thanks!
Holly

Hello Holly,
and Congratulations!!! I know you and your new hubbie will have a wonderful time in Disney. My family was there last week and saw lots of honeymooners. Be sure to get the bride and groom mickey hats they are adorable. We stayed at All star movies, and it was great. Most of your time is spent at the parks (well you two may be in the room more than we were !, wink wink) The food courts have a variety of foods and a nice gift shop. Hope you have a wonderful trip and good luck!!!

Hi Holly,

Welcome...and congratulations!

As for information, the only thing I can think of is that you can expect the parks to be crowded on the 29th and 30th, with maybe a little spillover to the 31st. Then it should be better during the week.

If you do a search on the resorts board, you'll find lots of comments about All-Star Sports. Some people love it, some don't. We stayed there once and thought it was great.

You're going to have a wonderful time!!!

Welcome to the DIS, Holly :wave2:

and congratulations on your upcomming marriage!!

We haven't stayed at the Sports, but we have stayed at the Movies and found the rooms to be clean and cute. With the 2 of you there should be enough room. We've always been pleased with the bus service.

Do you hace any specific questions?

Congratulations!!

Like the other poster (OP) said, it's going to be extremely crowded over the Memorial Day weekend. If you can avoid Magic Kingdom on the weekend - do it. Just go there during the week and it won't be bad at all.

Be sure to use FastPass - it's a free service where you can use your park tickets to get a time window to ride the big rides. Watch the Disney TV channels and they will explain or just ask any cast member in front of a ride. It will save you incredible time and aggravation - which you don't need on a honeymoon.

You are going to have the time of your lives!!

Congrats on your wedding, Holly!

We'll be there the same time as you, just about. As others said, expect the parks to be a bit more crowded Memorial Day weekend. Also keep in mind that MGM has Star Wars Weekends going on, so keep that in mind for your park planning.

Have fun!!

Welcome and congratulations on you upcoming marriage. I just know you are going to have a wonderful time at Disney. :sunny:

We were there the same time last year. We went to MK on Tuesday after Memorial Day and it was the worst crowds of the entire trip.

Bring plenty of sunscreen and reapply every few hours. You don't want to be a sunburned newlywed. It was very hot (unusually so) during this time frame last year.

Try to see Wishes, Spectromagic, Illuminations and Fantasmic in the evenings.

Mickey's Philharmagic rocks!!

Use Fastpass

I'm sure you will have a great time.
