I have never been to Universal and I have a few questions. We are planning on going the third week of March (crowded I know, but no flexibility on week). We are renting a condo so will not be able to take advantage of early hours for guests.

1) If I buy a one day ticket for two parks, can I upgrade it for an additional fee before we leave the parks for an extra day if do not get to everything we want to (which I am sure we won't but just in case)

2) If I do buy the two tickets for one park per day, can I go to one park on like a Sunday and then use the other day later in the week like Thursday (They do have to be consecutive days, right?)

3) With it being spring break I assume the express passes will be higher $$$, but when will they start selling 2012 express passes? I am considering this option.

4) Shoot this first timer with any advice you may have!!!

Thanks in advance!!!!

1.) Yes...you can upgrade your park tickets at Guest Services and pay the difference.

2.) Theme parks tickets can be used anytime within a 14 day window so you do not have to go on back to back days.

3.) EPs for 2012 will probably not go on sale until January of next year. The price depends on the anticipated crowd levels so Universal will wait and determine what to charge.

4.) General tips can be found on some of the trip reports or by looking through the threads and asking questions.

I will also be a first-timer in Feb, but have read here that it's a better idea to wait and get EPs at the park only if you need them. Are they less expensive online in advance? Right now we think we'll be there Feb 1-3, so I don't think we'll need them, but it's nice to have the option.

It's always best to wait until you can see what the wait times are before purchasing the EP. They are date specific and non-refundable so it's wise to wait. There are no discounts for EPs but since you're going in early February, I would highly doubt you would need them.

I have read that it is wise to purchase them in advance if you are going during a time you know is busy (like us) because you can purchase them in advance cheaper and sometimes they change the price/color based on crowd level. (Green day on line but changed to orange day at gates because of crowds) Is that not accurate?

if you go during spring break, the epp will be costly.
usually i tell peeps to wait until you are in the park before buying the epp.

but, if you go in the height of spring break, you will need them.

other option is staying on site but the hotels are at the holiday rates.
