Hi. I currently have ADR's at:
Liberty Tree Tavern
50's Prime Time Cafe
Rainforest Cafe (AK)
Rose and Crown Dining Room
Boatrights (we're staying at POR)
Cap N' Jacks (DTD)

We are planning a trip to Sea World in the middle of our week. Since Seaworld restaurants aren't on the DDP (!), I was wondering if there is a WDW resort hotel that might be nice, which we could hit on our way back from SeaWorld. Was considering Poly or Contemporary. Any suggestions?

Hello!

Of the restaurants you have listed, the 50's PTC is my favorite; have not been to Boartights or Cap N Jacks.

You mantion the Poly or Contremporary. I have to admit I am not a fan of Ohanas in the Poly. To me it was a tremendous letdown as I believed from other reports that it was a must-do. No one in our family enjoyed it at all, and we generally really like the Brazilian steakhouse type restaurants.

I don't know anything about your party, but if you have kids Chef Mickeys would appear to be an obvious choice. IMHO, the food has gotten better there this year over last. Wherever you happen to land, have a great time!

We did Chef Mickey's for dinner in January, and my family really enjoyed the experience. The character interaction with the kids was great, and the carved meat stations on the buffet were very good.

So I haven't tried Ohana's yet, but I can give a :thumbsup2 to CM for dinner.

Really appreciate your help! My son is 11 and I'm not sure he'd be too into the character dining. Any other suggestions for restaurants easy to get to (after being off site) that would be on the DDP?

Thanks again!

As far as your questions goes some of my favorites are Kona Cafe (poly) and Whispering Canyon Cafe (wilderness lodge). I would look at the menus for both and see if they are at all appealing to you. Most people get the skillet at WCC but I got their pasta last time and it was the best meal that I had all week. The wilderness lodge is beautiful if you have never been! Also on your pick for Capt N Jacks? Its gets horrible reviews. ( did you want it for the DTD spot or seafood?) If you want seafood I would rec'd Captains Grill (Yacht Club) or Cape may (beach club), which is a character buffet in the morning but seafood buffet (no characters) at night. For DTD I think anywhere else would be a better pick. Your son might like T-Rex or Reglan Road is good.

Yes - I picked CapnJacks because it was DDP, but it looks like the other 2 DTD spots you suggested are both on the DDP too. T-Rex looks fun - I may switch!

I will def. check out the menus for Kona and Whispering Canyon. Are they logical geographically do you know? Coming from SeaWorld, heading to POR. (Not that a little driving will be a huge deterrent).

Really appreciate your help!

Well Kona is at the Poly, which you said you where considering and wilderness lodge is close by. It wouldn't be that far from POR. You will go through the MK parking turnstiles, just let them know you are eating at the Poly or Wilderness Lodge and follow the signs from there.
