We will be closing in the next week on a 150 point contract at VWL from Disney (this was the best choice for our family). We will have a December UY as we travel mostly in January.

I will get 150 points for 2006 right away and another 150 point for 2007 on 12/1/07. I am planning on booking 3 nights at GC in October for 72 points. Then I will bank the other 78 points (I have to bank them because I won't use them before 12/1/07). Then next month I plan to book a week at VWL in January 2008 for 200 points -- leaving 38 to bank or use before 12/1/08. Does this sound right?

TIA for any comments or assistance.

Yes, you can reserve your GC stay as soon as you have paid your deposit. If you know you will not make another reservation for a stay before 11/30/07 you should bank the other points (78) from 2006. That will extend their use thru 11/30/08. In addition you will have another 150 points from your December, 2007 Use Year. The reservation you want for January, 2008 will use the banked points from 2006 (make sure they are banked before you make that reservaton though) and another 122 from your 2007 Use Year. This should leave 28 points from that Use Year - which may be banked (but not until 12/1/07).

Welcome Home! :)
