Newbie...Many questions about Universal

Ok I have been to Disney before but never Universal. After reading a trip report about a Universal trip, DFiance and I are thinking about taking a split trip next February Disney/Universal. First, which hotel at Universal is the best to stay at? Second, is February a good time to visit Universal? Also, does Universal have any type of transportation from the airport to the resorts like Disney does? Thanks!

1--All three are hotels are terrific, although I have only stayed at two. RPR is generally the cheapest and has the smallest rooms, but still a deluxe in every way. Very tropical, south pacific theme. HRH, rooms are bigger with a hip rock n' roll theme and feel. PBH has an Italian theme and is the most expensive. Go to universalorlando.com and look at the pics to get a feel. Best part of all of them...FOTL!!

2--February seems like a good time, crowd wise. The busiest week, I'd guess, is Pres. week due to school vacations.

3--No transportation like ME. Your best bet is using a car service, taxi or Mears shuttle.

February is a great time to visit Orlando! The weather is very nice and the crowds are fairly small. If you stay onsite, you won't have to worry about the lines. I would check with Mears Transportation to get from OIA to the hotel.

if you stay onsite it doesnt matter when you go, you will have no lines. we like portofino, but you cant go wrong with any of the three hotels onsite.
