Just went to AAA to get prices and info for 1st visit with ds (4yrs) and paretns. Plans are fot OCt16-19 at BC, after thinking about AK and Dolphin. I'm hoping I can do better than AAA price. We want connecting rooms, pool view, non smoking. and passes for the 4 days. Don't think we need anything but hopper passes, ssems the pool at BC is a water park in self and for 1st visit we can't do ewverything! Any info were I can go to try and get better rates. We are palanning on a couple of character meals...any info is greatly appreciated. Planning this is much more mind boggling than expected....want it to be perfect for the family!!! THANKS!!!

Oh, the BC looks like a lovely resort! I stayed at the YC (it's sister resort) this past December and loved the theming and ambiance. As a matter of fact my next trip will be at the BC this May. They are such convenient resorts, so that will be great for your family. Usually Disney releases codes that offer good discounts on their resorts and packages (up to about 40% off or so some times), but they usually release them much closer to the trip dates. You can check mousesavers.com for updates on code rates and historical code rates for last October. I usually book my reservations at the best rate I can find, then get my travel agent (at Dreams Unlimited Travel, which is GREAT by the way, and free to their clients) to get me a better rate if one comes out. For some other trip planning tips, I recommend a few things:

1) Get a guidebook to help plan what attractions you want to see and what restaurants appeal to you (it will really help you save time); I recommend the Unofficial Guide to WDW by Sehlinger and Disney World for Couples with or without Kids by Rick and Gayle Perlmutter

2) Some of my favorite character meals are breakfast at 'Ohana (at the Poly) and dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (at the MK)

3) Relax and have a WONDERFUL time! :)

I would like to recommend that you give Dreams Unlimited a try.

They are the travel company associated with these boards. Every agent that works there is a Disney nut just like the rest of us. They only deal with Disney Vacations and really are the experts.

You will find that they are great a keeping track of you vacation and watching for any way to save you money (*ie: codes).

Also they are super planners who will help you get those sometimes hard to get PSs for character dining, etc. Along with helping you plan your days based on what you want to do and see.

When we return to Disney for a second time after about a 4 - 5 year absence I knew I needed the help of experts like this in order to make the most out of our precious vacation time.

You can ask for a quote at thier site and then decide - but do not forget - they will work for you!

I'd also recommend Mary Waring's excellent site: mousesavers.com

You can learn a great deal about saving serious money from her site. Of course, the folks at dreamsunlimited will treat you right also.

If you have any flexibility in your dates, I'd recommend moving the time you are staying a bit past the 19th so you can attend the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. That is just fantastic! Don't know what the 2003 dates are... anyone out there know?
