Newbie Looking for design help!

Hi everyone...I am a total novice here! I do not have a creative bone in my body so the idea of making t-shirts totally freaks me out! BUT, with the encouragement from a few friends I am carefully stepping into the t-shirt ocean for my up-coming trip! We are a large group of 13 people - ages 7 years to 76. I usually go to Disney with just my kids and my mom, so this expanded family thing is new and we wanted to mark the occasion with a special shirt!

I would like something with a MK theme - since that is the only park we are all going to together! I am thinking of something that says:

3 Generations Meeting Mickey
2010

I would like to put the design on the back and their names on the front with their favorite characters. Or maybe both on the front?? I am open to any and all expert advice! The name can be something with a fill and the character next to it, or something with characters in it. Something easy for a novice!

Here are the names and their favorites!

Josh - Mickey
Zeke - chip and Dale (either or both)
LuLu - Stitch
Grammie - Mickey
Clay - Mickey
Claire - Minnie
Toby - Pluto
Ellie - Chip
Reagan - Goofy
Susan - Cinderella
Allison - Ariel/Belle or Sebastian (any will work - or a combo)
Kate - Alice or Ariel
Sarah - Daisy

Can someone help with this? Our trip is March 2, so I know that is such short notice. Thanks so much - I am not even sure I am requesting this correct, so my apologies if I messed up somehow!!! Now once I have the designs, I gotta figure out how to get them on a shirt! I have no programs on my computer except word.

I think you need Photoshop Elements or Microsoft Publisher or some other page design software, but I'm not certain. With the iron-on T-shirt transfers, you need to be able to "flip" the design so it prints out as a mirror image. Then, when you iron it on, it's the right way around.
Hope this isn't too confusing. Somebody else might be able to tell you if Word will work or not, or if there is a free download somewhere to help you.

Well, first I welcome you , and second, you need to order Amy's transfers. Look down the board here and then you can pm her to order. Her transfers never fail, I have used them so often....once you get the design you are looking for, and you use a dark transfer or one of Amy's you don't need to reverse the picture.. with Amy's transfers, she includes great instructions...good luck

Great - thanks guys! Just ordered Amys transfers, so that will help with the flipping issues....now just got to find the deg=signs.

Oh my Gosh!!! That is so perfect! I totally love it!!! Thank you so much!!!! Now I just have to figure out the names. I saw one that you did last night..... with a Mickey standing by the name with an fill in it (animal print?) not right for MK, but so darn cute!!
