HI all,
WE are planning our first trip to WDW in may30-june3. any tips on how to save money? I have read that AAA saves you money on the packages is it really worth it? ALSO it will be my dd's 5th b-day any tips on houw to make it a really special one? thanks

for your birthday child - I would go with a character breakfast - does she have a favorite Disney character??? if not then I would go with chef mickey's at the Cont resort.

make sure you get her a birthday pin at City hall on main street in the MK - at guest services at the other places... each pin is different - get her all of them....

how special are you talking about? some services can arrange special stuff in the parks - expensive!!!!

For your daughter:

Get the b-day pins.

Have a t-shirt/tank top made with "It's my b-day" on it to wear.She'll get lot's of "Happy Birthday's"!

Have a sit-down meal and pre-order a b-day cake for her for dessert.

Money savers:

Got to www.allearsnet.com and check out the menu's for planning your food budget. (You can find a place for that special b-day meal too!)

Give the kids Disney Dollars (or have them save it from chores/birthdays) as their own spending money. Tell them in advance you will buy a certain amount of "stuff", but the rest of what they want they need to buy for themselves. We did this with our kids, said we'd get one t-shirt and one souvineer but anything else they had to buy. It was great to see them really decide what was important to them.

Besides getting the Pins at MK...pick up a ribbon(at the $1 store)"I am 5years old"...CM's seemed to really love this...and my boys had a song sung to them at HDDR. They also go to ride up front on the monorail!
