Hi There- another gal told me about this board so I thought I check it out. But where do I start?

My husband & I are planning a trip to Disney World this fall and I don't know where to start planning. I planned our first ever trip in 1998 but I had a Disney Club card through my company. My company doesn't offer this anymore so I thought I'd try to find a good deal here.

In my last deal, we got a 7 day, 6 night stay at the Port Orleans resort, :jester: including access to all the parks for under $1k. I'd like to find something similar. Any good ideas how to start?

First of all, you've already done what you needed to do to start, you came to the disboards. There is a wealth of info here. You may not be able to do a week for 1k, but you can do it for close to that. Go to www.mousesavers.com. They have a list of codes you can use on room only deals and packages. What you should book depends on what you are looking for. As a rule, it's cheaper to book everything seperately. There is a code at Mousesavers, I THINK it's CLR, that's good for stays from 8/25 to 10/02 that says for mods and deluxe, but you can stay at All Star Sports or Music for $66 a night TOTAL, including Tax. If memory serves me correctly, a 5 day World Hopper Plus Pass is $261.84 pp.:) Also, check the budget board, there are all kinds of ways to save money.:D If you'll have a car while in Fla., there are some VERY nice hotels that are reasonable and within a couple mile of WDW. Some people REFUSE to stay offsite. I'm not one of those people. BTW, you can still get a DC card from the www.disney.com. It's $39.95 and worth it for the discounts that come with it. You get 5% off this and 10% off that and the card will pay for itself in no time at all.:p Good luck and any questions you have feel free to ask.:D

Cheers:)

Hi Roxanne,

Barry gave you some great information. You can also follow this link:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/content/code_main.htm

It has a lot of information to help you plan and also has an up to date list of codes that could save you some money.

If you would like to plan this on your own, the DIS has everything you need. Then you can take a look at Disavers to save even more money on your WDW vacation. If you would like someone else to help, try Dreams Unlimited Travel www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com . They will do the planning for you including checking the most current codes now and after you book.

Which ever way you decide, have a Magical time and welcome to the DIS. :)

Thanks for your help guys! :D I've requested information through Dreams Unlimited and it sounds almost similar to the package I got before though the club card. I saw the information about the DIS savers program and enticed about the rebate. Still contemplating that... but not sure if I'm willing to devote the time to make all the separate reservations myself. ;)

Anyway, thanks for the sites... I'm still going through all the options... there are just so many ways to go! I have a feeling I'll be on these boards a lot!
