If you get the Disney transfers from the Orlando Airport, do they only do transfers on the day you are cruising, or will they pick you up the night before? I am trying to work out the flight to Orlando and it looks like we might have to arrive the night before the cruise and spend the night in a hotel.

If we have to arrive the night before is it better to just rent a car and drive up ourselves then?

Thanks :D

One more question...

If we could get to Orlando on the day of sailing around 10:30 am, would we still be able to use the Disney Transfers? Approx. what time would we arrive at the ship?

Thanks (again)

If you arrive the night before the cruise and you stay at the Hyatt at the airport, you can get the DCL transfer in the morning by going downstairs to the DCL reps. If you stay off the airport you have to get to the airport in the morning and catch the transfer.

Did you consider using a limo service to get to the port?

If you arrange you flight to arrive on the morning of the cruise, you will be see the DCL reps directing you to the buses. Depending on when the bus leaves the airport and it leaves when it is full. The journey from what I understand takes 45 mins to an hour. Some one may correct me on that time.

We had originally bought the bus transfers from MCO to the port. We are a family of four. We checked into rental cars and found out that by using our BJ's discount with Budget we saved more than $100.00 by getting a rental car, plus we have more freedom than being tied down with the bus. We have a late flight leaving after the cruise and with the rental car we won't have to sit at the airport all day waiting for our flight to leave. We have a favorite seafood place we like to eat at while we are in Florida, with the rental car, and the extra time we have, we can now do that. It's only about a 45 minute drive from the airport to the port.

If you check out some other threads on this board, you will also see that quite a few people get a room at the Raddison near the port the night before the cruise, I understand they have an Avis Rental Car office at the hotel, and they have free shuttle service to and from the port as well. A few things you might want to look into.

BTW, Welcome to the DISboards

verandah man...we always used Avis for our other DCL cruises, but this time we are also using Budget. We are taking a limo service to the port from the airport (getting in at 10:00 am and didn't want to rent the car this time) and rented a 10-15 passenger van from Budget that we will pick up after our cruise. We are a party of 10 and were able to get the van for only $79 including tax. Much cheaper than even DCL one-way transers which are $25 pp. We also have a late flight and plan on doing one of the parks for the day before our flight at 7:30 pm.

We are sailing on 5/17 so I will let you know how Budget works out!!

Meig....DCL will not provide transportation other than the actual day of your cruise. You will have to use one of the other options listed here by other DIS'ers. They are all wonderful options. We have stayed at the Radisson 3 times and Hyatt at the airport 1 time. Both were fine accomodations.
