Hi everyone!
I'm new to posting on these boards, although I've been using them for research for some time now.
We're not DVC members, but I'm very interested in renting points from someone for a 2bdrm at BLT in late September/early October of 2014. Probably LV, but not terribly picky and would take GV or MK if that's what's available. My question is, in your experience, what is the likelihood of getting points and a reservation for this at 7-8 months out? I've looked into using Dave's service, but don't think we'll be able to pay in full at 11 months out (the advised time for this room/resort). But we will be able to pay in full at 7-8 months out. I guess the other option is renting from an individual member at 11 months because it seems- and please correct me if I'm wrong- that with most of these transactions, you pay 50% at time of making reservation and the balance at x number of days from your trip (which is totally doable for us financially). This does concern me a little based on the *few* horror stories I've seen on here, but I know there are more good experiences than otherwise. Any advice or suggestions? TIA!
Kristin

It will be my first trip to Disney since I was a kid and will be the first trip for our kids (ages 5 and 2.5 when we go). I'm already really excited!
