Hi all! I usually hang on the cruise board but next week we are heading to Orlando to visit parents. Couple of questions -

1. Silly, so get ready - is Discovery Cove and Sea World 2 different parks? Trying to understand the difference.

2. I have 2 DSs - ages 5 and 6. What would you recommend doing or not doing for kids that age?

3. We are using the Pepsi Voucher so we can't eat at certain restauraunts. Has anyone ever used the vouchers? Where is the best restaurant for us to eat at?

4. What is the best day to go to the park? We're pretty flexible on this trip and only plan on being there 1 day.

ANy other suggestions?

TIA!!!

I can only answer a couple of those questions. Discovery and SeaWorld are 2 different parks and they are on different sides of a very busy highway in Central Florida. Discovery cove is more like a water park that they limit the # in. SeaWorld is the theme park with the shows and rides. I know that I've seen numerous younger kids at the park so I would say yes that for ages 5 & 6 you would be fine.

I too will only be able to answer a little:

Discovery Cove is actually a place to snorkel with beautiful fish, lay on a beach, and have a limited time to swim with dolphins. There are no slides, etc., like a water park. This requires reservations, and age limits on the dolphin swim.

We experienced DC, and DS7 and DS9 and DH all enjoyed it. If you consider DC, you should go to their website, get more info and costs, to make desicision.

Your children should love SeaWorld.
This does not get as crowded as WDW, but get to the shows early, because they do fill-up. We recommend the "Shamu," and "Clyde and Seamore."

Dont forget the happy harbour at SW is fantastic for young kids only a play area but very well run for the kids it does get busy at the weekends but really good atmosphere:jester:

Happy harbor isn't only good for kids. I've been up in the play areas before. I love those places. We invade it atleast once a year with our coaster club and friends.

THere really isn't a "best" day to go to Sea World, because the crowd level doesn't seem to change much from day to day. However, I do remember seeing something about Tuesdays being a discount day for senior citizens, so that may or may not affect crowds. Hate to say it but that fact did influence our planning.
THere's lots of stuff that young kids enjoy at Sea WOrld. The shows are amazing. Plus they can feed dolphins and stingrays and stuff. My grandfather even enjoyed that when he went with us 6 years ago. It truly is a park for all ages.
