First off... what a great site. This is my 4th visit to WDW, so I am a vet in some sense, but the info on DIS is awesome. Thank you to the site folks and all those that post.

Second... arrrgh... what is up at Disney. The website has been near to useless for the past week. Response times are horrrible if pages load at all. I suspect the announcement today, of the new disney.com site might be the culprit as they are advertising free online gaming and all sorts of highbandwidth content.

Does anyone know anyone in the Disney structure? they need to know that not being able to use thier website is havign a serious impact on our ability to plan our trip. Thank goodness for this site and all the info that loads so quickly.

( ps.. I run a computer shop and have been an Internet provider, so I know that this isn't a bandwidth or software issue on my end.)

I hope that they can resolve whatever the issue is soon, it must be impacting thousand sof people!!

cheers!

i agree with you just trying to get around or get a price for a trip is horrible. I finally just called a did it over the phone.:hippie:

:welcome: :goodvibes
I haven't had any problems on the WDW site lately. Haven't been on there today though.

I agree wholeheartedly. The logged-in, My Vacation portion, of disneyworld.com has been unusable for a few days now. What is up with it! I'm trying to plan things using their site, but instead it is causing me to be down about the trip.

Today is MUCH better, although the site is still pokey.

My guess is that the bean counters will not allow moremoeny to be spent on bandwidth and servers.

I read today how Disney is pulling ALL paper publications for their parks form all hotels in Florida except for those in close proximity to the WDW resort. Their resoning is that people are now using the Interent for researchign their trips.

So, WDW knows that peple use the Net and they are purposely looking to feed people to their website system, yet they seem to not understand the negative affects their systme is having on the overall guest experience.

This is just very unlike what I would expect from Disney.

As someone has said and as I have said in a survey and an email, the magic should start wiht the website, not come to a screeching halt.

cheers!

Welcome, Jason!

I used to LIVE by the disney site for vacation planning but THANK GOODNESS for THIS board... I found it just before my last trip but for my next trip I know I'll see things I never knew about and I"ve been there 15+ times!

There are also vacation planners on these forums... one individual contacted me, sent me an info packet, and has kept in touch and offers GREAT prices and individualizing your vacation. I'm excited to use them!

YOu just tell them what you want and they suggest dates, where to stay based on budget, where to go... WONDERFUL!!!

Also on these boards you'll learn REAL TIPS and secrets and suggestions and recommendations and real experiences ... not just facts.

I rarely go on disney.com anymore unless I want to watch a quick video or check the upcoming news:)

I hope you enjoy it here.... it's my favorite community forum and I belong to several!

Another newbie here!!! I am from Texas and we are planning our first Disney trip!!! We will be going in 2 months. I have been to both WDW and DL, however the most recent which was WDW was over 20 yrs. ago. This time my hubby, 2 kids and I are getting ready to enjoy the fun. We will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside!! We can't wait!!

I had a problem w/ the website the night before last, saying it was too busy and couldn't load the page, I was finally able to get on yesterday morning!!

I will note that the response issue from the Disney general site have cleared up. Pages load much quicker, so they must have been payign attention.

The "My Vacation" pages are still an issue... oh well!
