Newbie Swap

Group Size: 5- you will make 5 of the exact same elements (use the same paper, ect)- If you are using a charm(or other embellishment) package and all the charms match your theme you can use different charms on each instead of buying a package for each person in the group- but the paper used should be the same (although mats(or other element) may be oriented in opposite directions)

Embellishing: All items should be embellished with more than flat stickers: this could be inking, tearing, using a specialty paper (glittered, flocked, ect), stickles, dew drops, pop dotting items, layered diecuts, embossing, and such- if you don’t know if you have embellished something feel free to send me a picture and I can help.

Handwriting: Please don’t use handwriting- use the computer, rub-ons, stamps, or stencils for writing.

Dates:
Sign Up: September 10-12th
Send Information/Check Your groups: Sept 12-15th
1st Check in: Sept 27th-30th
2nd check in: Oct 15th-17th
3rd check in(please ask for angels is needed by this time): October 28-31st
Mail By Date: Nov 6th
Due Date (should be at my home): Nov 13th

Swapper Responsibilities:
1.You need to check in during each check in period (will be at least 3 days) or ahead of time if you will be on vacation during a check in. At each check in please let me know where you are in the process- have you designed what you are doing? have you bought supplies? have you begun cutting out things for your pieces? are you finished with a certain number of them?
2.You need to use good quality product
3.You need to send in work you would put in your own album
4.Please do neat work (use sharp blades, don’t leave glue on the displayed area of the project.
5.You need to pm me your address, email, and a phone number- I will only use means of contacting you other than the board if I can’t get ahold of you on the board.
6.You need to mail by the mail by date.
7.You need to tell me (and your group) if you are unable to complete things and I will get an angel for you- I would rather have you tell me that something happened (in any detail you wish) and you can’t complete the group than to just stop communicating.
8.You need to send postage to return your groups – you can use a flat rate envelope if you are in 4 or less groups but will need to use a flat rate box for more groups. You may send a check, stamps, or cash.
9.Please send a mailing label filled out so I don’t accidentally make a mistake on sending your items back.
10.When you complete your items please put each persons things into a ziplock bag and on or in the bag write your name and group number, put each of the bags for a group into a gallon size bag and then put all the gallon bags into the envelope or box you send.

What you can expect from me:

1.Quick communication if you have a question (I will post when I am going to be out of town).
2.A willingness to help you find templates if you need or instructions on how to do something.
3.A quick turn around of your items (I will send them back within a week of the due date unless a major emergency comes up but will keep in contact if it does)
4.That I will make sure that everyone else in your group is doing there part for this swap as well so you will get back a variety of good quality items.

To sign up please let me know which group you want to be in and the element you will be doing- if you know the specifics of what you will be doing then please tell me the area (for example 123SA is doing Honey I Shrunk the Kids in the DHS group) so that we can get a variety of things in each group.

This swap is specifically designed for new swappers to our board- for the 1st 20 hours only those who have completed less than 3 swaps may sign up – after that others can fill in any open groups. New swappers may sign up for 1 group in each category (one A, and one B, and so forth). I will continue to open groups as needed during the first day for our new swappers.

If it would work, I'm thinking for Cinderella's Royal Table or just character sightings, I will also do the Fairy Godmother for the Magic Kingdom group.

Ok, this is the second swap I am joining on this forum. Could I possibly sign up for the EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom groups? If so, here is what I will make:

EPCOT - paper piecing (possibly Test Track, but will let you know if it changes)
Hollywood Studios - paper piecing (the big hat or Rock n Roller coaster)
Magic Kingdom - paper piecing (possibly Castle, but will let you know if it changes)
Animal Kingdom - photo frame

I plan on testing to see how I like the paper piecings and if they work well, I will PM you

You can join all 6 groups if you would like- I have put you in where you asked. If something doesn't work out the way you hope you are welcome to change elements or focus areas.

Rebecca

I think I'll just stick to the 4 groups. I already have another swap I'm in and a few others on Cricut.com messageboards. But thanks and I can't wait to get started.

Okay - I am going to give this a try - you all seem so nice on this board!! I would like to do a Donald Duck topper for the Disney Characters group. Does that work?

Thanks,
Rhonda :)

I got you added. I am heading out of town till tomorrow afternoon to host a Bridal Shower- I ended up needing to leave earlier than I thought. I would ask that those new to swapping here continue signing up and I will add you when I get online again (I am not sure about access tonight). I will open to everyone when i return tomorrow to fill any groups. If a group seems full but you are interested in it just post what you want and I will open additional groups as needed.

Rebecca

I'm probably not going to be able to help after all. I got burned by hot oil while cooking on Sunday and am out of service for at least a couple days. Don't want to take on more than I'm able to handle and I want to be able to complete the swaps I've already committed to.

Have fun and hope to swap with you all soon! You'll very soon see that this board is addicting. :goodvibes

I'll help with Hollywood Studios - if I could do a topper, that'd be great.

If I can get done some stuff this weekend, and if you need more spots filled, I might be able to take one or two more, since they're only one element pp.

They are not due until Nov so you have got some time.

Hi everyone! I'm just checking in! I've been getting everything together - I think I've gathered most of what I'll need! This will be fun!

What happens if all the spots don't get filled?

I might be able to do another one! If needed, I can do one for Epcot! Perhps a topper for World Showcase? Would that work?

Rhonda :)

You may do a topper for Epcot but I am sure all the spots will fill up- let me know if you want it. I have been busy taking care of a few other things on the board.

Rebecca

Ok - I will wait and see if it fills up first! If not, then I might take on another one! Seeing as it's my first swap, I'll take it slowly this time unless some need filling up.

Thanks,
Rhonda :)

That's true - why do I always forget about October existing? :confused3

Anyway - I'll do a license plate for Animal Kingdom. Probably something like "Wild Thing" or "Animal"... I only have 6/7 letters!

And for DHS, my topper will say something like "Super Star" - I'm finally going to use my glitter paper I got so long ago at a crop!

I would love to sign up for embellished squares for Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom. Thanks
