Hi,
So my Fiance and I decided to take the kids to Disney World for our Honey moon from Dec 16th to the 23rd of 2009. We will be bringing my sister along with us too, she is my maid of honor so it is kind of a gift to her. I booked the vaca a few months ago but have been reading these boards and I realize that I have a lot to do! Our two girls will be just under 3 and our son will be 8. We will be staying at the Wilderness Cabins and plan on taking one day to head out to Universal Studios. There is so much information and I want to get it all right. I just do not know where to start! Any advice for me would be greatly appreciated. One thing I have decided from reading these boards is that I will definately be renting a Citi Mini double stroller from Orlando Stroller rentals for the girls. This will be the first time any of us have gone to DW so I really want to make it perfect and totally NOT stressful!
Thanks for having me!

Congrats on booking your vacation! You'll be going while all the Christmas decorations are up. Lucky you.

Make sure that you know the height requirements of each of the rides before you arrive. That way, you won't have a disappointed child who just can't understand why he/she can't ride.

If you are on the dining plan or even if you're not, make sure that you book your dining reservations at your 90 day mark.

If you have specific questions, please post them and we'll be glad to try and answer them.

Hi
I'm new to this site and decided to start here. I found one of the boards has all kinds of tips. The one I read about strollers is to put some kind of bandana or other identifier on the stroller handle because when you come out of an attraction it will help you find your stroller faster. I don't have kids but I've seen the 100's of strollers outside some attractions.

Have fun on your trip. We are planning to go in January 2010.

First of all, where in Rhode Islanad are from? I was born in Woonsocket and traveled as a child because my father was in the Navy. I spent my summers in North Smithfield with grandparents.
Many pointers can be given. Here is one very important thing to remember because of the age of your children. They will get tired if you try to put in a full day, and night, in a park. Break the day up so this does not happen. Go back to the cabin, take a knap, or swimm at a pool. Bottom line is to put in some relax time during the day. It will allow everyone to enjoy the time better. The stroller is a good idea. There is alot of walking for sure.
Also get an idea what theme parks offer what so that you can get an idea of where you want to spend time as opposed to spending time that will not be of interest to the children.

Hi all,
I was also born in Woonsocket and lived in North Smithfield where I graduated HS. I now live in sunny Bermuda with my husband of 20yrs who is originally from this tiny island.

Already thinking of our next trip to the World....February 2011!!!

Hello... Woonsocket must be popular because I grew up there too.:thumbsup2 Graduated from WHS and then moved to Warwick when I got married.

To the OP... congrats on your wedding. One word of advice is, take it easy and realize you wont be able to do everything you want to especially with the little ones. Just enjoy the moment and have fun. It goes by too quickly.

:sad1:We just got home today :sad1: after a year of planning and it is all over!!!

Welcome to the DIS. When I was in the Navy I was stationed in Newport. A great state!

As we say in Rhode Island...Hawaya!

Welcome aboard! Have fun on your trip. Where will you be staying?

We are having a Meet in North Providence in June. Click here for information. You are welcome to attend!

What did you do in the Navy and how long were you in? I was in for 10 years and was an electronics tech on land based radar and communication equipment (ETR and ETC). :thumbsup2
