Just coming in to say hello! :wave2: I'm Kerry, and my family (hubby and son) will be going on our first trip to Disney next year. I'm really excited to have found DisBoards, I've already learned a ton!

Welcome Kerry you will learn a lot about Disney on these post. I remember my first trip to Disney in 1972 it was magical I feel in love with the place.

:welcome:

Let's see...we have a welcome from C-bus, from Cleveland, MD and GA. I live between Dayton and Cincy, so I'll cover those two Ohio cities, but I am from Kentuckiana (the area just north of Louisville, but in IN), so I'll cover those states as well. :rotfl:

Yes...I am in a very weird mood today. :lmao:

I already have!! I've been to WDW once, during my senior year in 1994. The hubby has never been, and we're so excited to take our son! He has a speech delay, as well as some potential sensory issues or autism spectrum issues (still in the diagnostic phase there), so reading the feedback from parents with children in similar situations has been so helpful.

Love seeing all the Buckeyes on here!! Did any of you drive to Disney? We're considering doing that so Mommy doesn't have to spend a flight spazzing out, lol. Smitch425, I used to live in Dayton!

I have in the past - as a kid - but as a grown-up, nope. I can roll out of my bed in the morning, drive 15 minutes to Port Columbus, pop through security, grab a Starbucks, fly Southwest nonstop and be to WDW in time to eat lunch in the Magic Kingdom. Can't beat it!

Definitely evaluate whether your son would benefit from a GAC... If there are things that can be done to accommodate him, WDW will try.
