Hi Everyone!!

I've been lurking around for about a year now and My BFF finally convinced me to post. :scared1: Can you tell it's freaking me out?
My 11th WDW trip is scheduled for Sept. '08 and I can hardly wait. :cloud9: It will be my first time staying on-site and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where I should stay. It will just be my BFF an I. No kids, No husbands, and Free dining!! Who could ask for anything more? :woohoo: Also, during our stay the MNSSHP is scheduled. Is it worth paying extra for? I'm a huge Mickey fan and Halloween is my favorite holiday. I just don't want to pay extra and then be disappointed.

I am so excited to finally be a part of the DIS!!!

What is your budget like? How long is your stay? Do you plan on visiting all four parks?

I think you will love MNSSHP, especially if Halloween is your favorite holiday! I think it is 100% worth it!
The parade is great, fireworks excellent, not to mention the decorations!
If you want go in costume.....we never do but it is so much fun to see what costumes everyone has on..

If Halloween is your favorite holiday, I would highly recommend MNSSHP. The fireworks and parade are great. Many people dress up in creative costumes, but you won't feel out of place if you don't dress up. My DH and I got really competitive with collecting the candy. What can I say? We're nerds. Plus, when do you ever get something "free" from Disney? :woohoo: (Other than Dining!) We truly thought it was well worth the price of admission.
We're staying at POFQ when we go again this Oct. We've only heard great things about it, and after staying at POR before, we thought we'd give it a try. We really enjoy taking the boat to DTD.
Congrats on your trip! :yay:

You'll love staying on-site, where to stay really depends on your budget. My family has stayed everywhere from value resorts to deluxe. We loved the Beach Club (near EPCOT and Boardwalk for many dinning options). Can also take the boat to Disney Studios. For Mod. we liked POFQ, small and quiet and you can take the boat to DTD, but it is far away from the parks. We weren't thrilled with CB or BW. I would try to stay close to what you want to do, if you would like to head to EPCOT for dinner (since you have free dinning) stay near there, if you want to head to DTD stay on the boat route.

Hi! :wave2:

Welcome to the DIS!!

Your trip sounds like it will be a much needed getaway for you and your BFF. You are an emotional wreck and she is spread way too thin!! :lmao:
I say go to MNSSHP and enjoy yourself-you only live once!

P.S. For all of you wondering what is she talking about... I am her BFF. Trsut me, I know what I am talking about!

Can't wait for our Sept escape from the madness that we call a career!

On my first trip to WDW we stayed at POFQ and loved it. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We will be going in September this year as well and have decided to splurge on the MNSSHP too! I figure we might not get back there ever again at that time of year so we might as well do it all the way!
Have a great time!

Okay, Okay. . I get the picture. MNSSHP it is!! I'm gonna get more candy than my BFF and I might try to convince her to dress up. :rolleyes1

As far as our budget goes, my BFF is going again in Nov. with her DD, DH, and DMiL. So we don't want to splurge, but we also don't have to count our pennies. We plan to drive down from NC and the free dining will really save us money. I think we are stuck somewhere between a value resort and POFQ. Any suggestions? Is POFQ better than POR?

We really do need the break. I hope our boss dosen't get amnesia and think that our project will fall apart if we leave at the same time. :scared: I will have to get her for that emotional wreck comment, though. LOL.

POFQ sounds nice. And the boat to DTD would be a nice change from the buses.

Overall, I don't care because where are we going?...to see the Big Cheese himself!!! :cool1:

I don't know why she is trying to steal my man!! LOL :confused3
We are so excited about this upcoming vacation we can hardly do our work. Not that the drudgery here is so exciting :surfweb:

We are on for the MNSSHP!! :cheer2:

My next question is: Drum roll please. . . . .. . .:rotfl:

Is Disney Quest worth the money if there are no kids going?

My ds13 loves DQ but me not so much. There are virtual reality simulator that are kind of cool, but unless there is bad weather I'd rather be at a park. I'm not a big fan of video games so that's probably why I'm not a big DQ fan. For me it's not worth the extra money, for my DS it is. :confused3

Personally, I think DQ is over-rated. When fi & I went last April, only stayed long enough to do the virtual roller coaster (not all that impressive, either) and then left. I don't think I'd ever do it again without kids who were really into video games.

Pleasure Island, on the other hand, is definitely worth it...

We have stayed at POFQ and my DS absolutely loves it. While it is smaller than the PO-Riverside, it is the first bus stop so you get seats when you're going and you're the first to get off when you're tired and have sore feet!

I am going crazy waiting for April to come so we can see if Free Dining will be offered again this September!! :confused3

We won't know what we will be available to book if and when it is offered so we are kind of in limbo as to booking our trip.

But I really want to try POFQ, it looks so peaceful and the grounds look lovely.

Come on April!!

Looks like we will be staying at POFQ. I am so excited. :yay: I can hardly contain myself!! It will be my first on-site stay. I am going to immerse myself in allthings Disney!! :cloud9: I wasn't particlarly excited about staying at a Value resort, but I was going for the price. Then I decided that our sanity was more important than my budget. :rolleyes1

DQ sounds like it is more tween and teen oriented. I'd rather be at a park than playing a video game any day!!

The days are passing so slowly. I'm just ready to make the ADR's. Whispering Canyon . . . .Here I come!!! popcorn::

I'm sure you will be happy with POFQ, it's my family's home away from home.

It seems like April will never come!!:confused3 I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa.:santa: As soon as April gets we can make our reservations. It is taking it's own sweet time.

My BFF and I were at lunch today and we spend most of the time discussing and planning our trip in Sept.

She also mentioned something I hadn't heard about:

Does anyone know anything about the proposed "adult" Disney Park in Orlando?
Are the tickets really supposed to be $200 pp?

WELCOME I think you should stay at ....Well I dont now the name but it has statues in front of it and 100 dollars a night. We might go there for our Disney vacation in Oct.:)
