Hello all!

I'm so excited to start planning our family's first trip to WDW. Maybe overly so LOL!
We can go at any time in 2011, but I think we're leaning towards the week after Thanksgiving. I really would like to see the holiday decorations and I've read the crowds are more manageable then.
We'll be travelling with our 2 DDs who will be 4 and 2 1/2. DD1 is already excited (she is now 2 1/2), every time she sees the WDW commercial she says she wants to see Cinderella's castle.
We're planning to stay on site. We'd love to do the WL, if we can get a discount PIN.
Other options are POR (my choice) or CBR (DH's choice).
Shades of Green is also an option for us (DH is National Guard).
Questions that have come to mind so far:
Should we buy our tickets through the military? Or in a package?
Do they often do free dining in December?
We want to go to Sea World one day, whats the best way to get there? Taxi or rent a car for one day?
Weather Nov.29-Dec 6? Would we be able to swim (we're from Ohio, so we're pretty hardy)?
I know I have a ton of questions for being so early in the game, thanks for endulging me.

I'm just so excited! I remember how much fun I had at WDW the two times I went when I was little, I can't wait to experience that with my kids.

Thanks!
Jen

Welcome to the Dis!

Just an FYI, Shades of Green is not a Disney Resort and you can not get the Disney Dining Plan while staying there. I also don't think you can get ME there either.

Also, if you are interested in getting the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) you have to purchase a Magic Your Way pagckage at a Disney Resort that includes room, tickets and dining.

Last year was the first year they ever had a free dining offer for the general public in December. There has been no rumors or confirmations that they will have a FD offer in December of this year. If they do, it would not come out until the end of the summer.

Weather that time of year can be iffy. It could be hot, it could be cold. In 2005 we went during the timeframe and it was quite cold and we did not swim. In 2008 it was 85 degress every day.

Thanks for the help Princess Tiffany :)
I knew we couldn't do dining with SoG, just wondering if that would be a better route to go.

:welcome: I'm also not sure if you can get Magical Express with SOG? We visited the world many times during the week you are looking at. It is our favorite time of year of all of our visits. POR would be my choice over CBR. You have a long time to go before your actual trip so as far as buying tickets with a package or not....I would hang tight and see what special deals might be offered. Weather is wonderful, usually shorts during the day and sweatshirts for the evenings. Swimming can be iffy, but we have had times when we went to the water parks.
