Newbie DVC, a couple of ??s

Hi everyone! We are new DVC members as in we were supposed to close yesterday(not sure if we did or not as DH is dealing with all of the fine details) 120 pts with a April UY at SSR! Anyway we are already planning our trip for next year. December (sometime in the 1st two weeks) for a week to be exact, we are hoping for the THV, do you think that is feasable??? Also how would we go about purchase the 6 extra points we would need??? We decided that we do not want to borrow them. Any advice would be greatly apperiated as this will be our 1st vacation as DVC members.

One more thing, if we did get the THV, what are the chances of us getting the request of as close to the Carriage House as possible?? We would be flying and will have our 2 1/2 DD who, if its warm enough, will want to be in a splash/zero entry pool.

Call right at the 11 month window which would be this Jan. and you have a good chance to get it. The first 2 weeks is one of the busiest times of the year for DVC rooms. You would have to borrow thoes 6 points because you can only get them at the 7 month window. P.S. Welcome Home.

I would just borrow the points, you can always get extra points later if you end up needing them. You should be OK at 11 months out but unit assignments are hit or miss. If being close to a better pool are important you may want to consider SSR proper rather than THV. Good luck and enjoy your membership.
