Newbie curious of renting points

Hi.
Is it possible to rent points from a DVC member? I was looking for a stay at one of the DVC resorts. How much would/should I be paying per point?

Any cons to doing this?

going rate is 10 a point...........we can make your ressies for you if you are non DVC but you would have to pay first via paypal. The down side of this is you must trust the DVCer............but we have done it many times before and it usually goes smooth...........biggest issue is where you want to stay and when may not be available so you might have to be flexible on what property ...........but the dates are ususally easy to get..........if it is last minute you will get OKW or SSR at this point according to Member services. I just talked with them this AM about January since i have 62 points that will expire if i dont us them.

Ken - be careful.

If the DVC member can't get you a reservation you can't use the points.

So first make sure that they DVC member can get you the reservation.

I make the reservation - send it to the person - then they send me a check - I know I am trusting - but if it bonces I can cancel the reservation.

be sure to read Doc's FAQ at the top of this forum.

there have been (even here) cases where the person brought points, but then the DVC member couldn't make the reservation.

I can't rent any until June.

go look around - I think someone has some points that they will lose in April - that would be perfect for you.
