Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, Hope your as happy as can be!!!!

My family and I will be taking our first trip to WDW June 26 thru July 3 2005. There is 4 of us, DH,DS(13), DS(3), and myself.
We are staying at the ASMovie resort. We are on DYW package, and have park hopper tickets.
Can you tell me how my plans sound and if there is anything you would change or add to make this the most "MAGICAL" experinece it can be. I really appreciate all your input.

I have so much enjoyed these boards and the magical people I have met so far. I've learned so much, only hope to learn and grow more each time I am here.

Thank you in advance, And I'm sorry it's such a long thread.

Didn't I just see this post over on the Theme Park board? ;)

I have to say that the bus system at WDW is one of the best. They do a great job getting everyone around. We never move our car. Plus don't you have to pay for parking at the parks if you drive. Even with your breaks it only takes a few minutes by bus to get back to your resort.

When at Epcot, you have to walk around and try different things in the WS. The fish and chips in UK are really good. Also the bakery in France has a great cheese plate and desserts. The crepes are awesome.

You have some great choices and should have an awesome time.

The only concern I would have is can your son stay up this late (12 AM/1AM). I have a 5 yr old and he has to be in bed by 8-9 pm. He'd start
having melt downs if we tried to have him stay up this late. Probably even if we were able to get him to take a nap. WDW can be so overwelming as it is so to younger ones. I do see that you have sleeping in the next morning so this might work for you.

Enjoy your stay!! :flower:

First of all, forgiveness from all please,
I posted this same thread on several different forms so I could be sure to get the most advise possible. Needing all that I can get.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please. :confused3 :confused3

I understood we are going at one of the busiest times of year. And that also, staying at ASMovie resort, this was last resort to be picked up on Value resorts bus line.
And, because we are staying on property, parking was free where ever in "world" we were going.
So with all that in mind, I thought it would be more convient and time saving to drive ourselves around then it would be to take the buses. With the exception on MK. I've read this park is a booger if you drive yourself.

So am I wrong?? I have no idea, being our first time and all. :confused3

Gosh, you people are so wonderful!!!

Ok, it's wishes we can see from dinner, got it!!
Also, I don't have PS's everyday, Friday is open.

I've read and read and read, and everything I've read always say to start early, before crowds and hot weather, break, then enjoy cooler evenings. Is this not the way to do it? :confused3 :confused3
On the evenings that I plan on staying later in the parks, I've tried to make the next mornings not a early one.

And belive me, MK is our favorite I'm sure, and we plan to take full advantage of our first morning and also EMH on wednesday night.

Thanks again, soooooooo very much.
I just love these boards!!!

Taking breaks is what we do when we go in the summer time. We usually went back to the hotel at 2pm and then went back out around 5 or 6. My niece and nephew did stay up longer but they had their naps and rest time from 2-5 so it worked. Just be flexible. If it's a bad day go back to your resort for a while.

About the driving like I said before we never drive at WDW so I always assumed you paid for parking at the parks. I could be wrong. I do know that I have seen them hold cars back in the mornings at the parking gates as we on the buses drove by. We like to get to the gate early and be first in on days when EMH isn't available. And there was always long lines first thing in the morning at the parks for the cars. I'm not sure what time they open the gates. Also I haven't stayed at any of the AS resorts but we did stay at POR during July 4th one year. The POFQ get picked up first. Our first morning we waited forever and finally a full bus drove up from POFQ. The bus driver called in that there was people waiting at POR. They had a bus there in 5 minutes to get us. After that we had no problems with the buses. They will add buses as needed when the parks are packed.
