My apologies in advance if this subject has been covered.

We are thinking of visiting WDW this coming Jan and staying in our RV at FW

How far in advance do you make reservations for this time of year (assume it will be a 'quieter' time)?

I take it the only way to make reservations is by phone?

Many thanks.:flower3:

First let me say WELCOME !
Next,,no apologies needed. I would make ressies as soon as I know what days I want to stay at the Fort,,the sooner the safer. You can also go to the Disney website and make reservations.

Feel free to join in conversation or ask questions when ever you like. :thumbsup2

Yep, according to the experts on here (and they seriously know everything about FW) FW gets completely booked during the value season as well as regular and peak seasons. If you know the dates you're able to go, I would go ahead and book! I'm not sure if the 2010 rates are available yet, but WDW will still allow you to book by phone and then assuming there will be a rate increase for 2010, they will bill you for the difference. As long as 2010 rates are available, you may book online.

Oh and WELCOME!!!!!:)

Thank you both very much!

I did try online but it wouldn't take anything past 2009. The possible (probably) rate increase is undoubtedly the reason .

As I said we are fairly new to RVing and the few trips we have taken have been in more of the "off season" times. Have to get our act together when booking in Fl in the winter months!!

Thanks for the warm welcome as well!

I think right now you can only book online through 12/31/09, but you can book by phone 499 days out. :thumbsup2

I agree with PP - we always book just as soon as we confirm the dates we're going, regardless of the time of year. It's amazing how full FW is most of the time!

And WELCOME to the camping boards!
Where no question is silly or stupid.... although some of the answers might be. :rotfl:

:welcome:

I would book as soon as you know the dates. We love WDW in the "off" times - less crowded. Enjoy your trip, whenever you decide to go!! You'll love the Fort. Be careful, though....one trip to the Fort can ruin you for most other campgrounds. :goodvibes

I'd put word out to Rhonda from Deams Unlimited. She's a moderator here and always around. She will book your trip for you, watch for any discounts that may come up, give you a customized itinerary when it's time and all you do is show up! sorry if this sounds like a commercial, but we've done this twice now (and the last time was a fairly complicated family reunion between several resorts) and she's just plain great. First timer, take the worry out of it - go with Dreams Unlimited. :thumbsup2
