Newbie....Aulani room request advise

Hi, my husband and I are celebrating our 30 th wedding anniversary this September booked an one bedroom ocean view room for one week. I don’t know where the DVC rooms are but is there certain building (s) we should suggest for example...near adult pool, bbq, etc. thanks!!

We were in the Waianae Tower on the 11th floor and the view was great.

We have twice overlooked the lazy river /ocean and once looked out on the inland hills. The lazy river / ocean view takes a bit of getting used to, as all afternoon and into the evening you'll hear live Hawaiian music coming up from the buffet below. Annoyed at first, we came to love the music, which is laid back and lovely. But it was great looking over the beach into the water while the sun was setting. And we always though looking over the lazy river jungle and volcano was beautiful, particularly at night when the lights made magic. On our last visit we looked out rather than in, and found the entire experience to be less wonderful. We missed the twinkling evening nights, we missed the jungle foliage, and we missed the music. In short, we found that paying more points for the ocean view (which included the lazy river) made the lanai a much more valuable part of the room for eating breakfast, relaxing during the day, and unwinding in the evening.

We prefer to over look the Waikoloe Valley where the lazy river and main pool are located. You can even hear the evening live music. Which we often enjoyed while sitting there with some wine and snacks.

While the resort is big, most everything is within a 5-10 minute walk. The location of your room is really not that important unless you are on the first floor or two. The room we were in was on the 7th floor so it was an elevator ride to the ground floor and a short walk to everything.
