Hi, I am new to these boards. I have come here hoping to find fellow Disney fans like me. I don't know if I have the right forum for this question, and I would appreciate anyone steering me in the right direction if I don't. My parents used to take us to WDW on Delta all the time as kids and I wonder if this was the "official" airline of WDW at one time? You know, like Nescafe was the official coffee served, and National used to be the official rental car. I have a memory of it being so, but maybe it was Eastern? Maybe they sponsored a ride or something? I know, this is an obscure thing to want to know, but I am curious. Any thoughts?

Hi and Welcome! :yay:

The first trip we took in 1983 we booked through "Delta Dream Vacations". Everything was included. I'm not sure if this is the same as your parents used.

Enjoy the DIS.

Welcome to the Boards!

I remember taking Eastern from NY to FL in 1985 but I don't think they were the "official" airline of WDW. The ride that you are refering to, however, was Delta Dreamflight/Take Flight. I'm assuming Delta was the "official" airline.

Took me about 15 mintues searching for it on the DISboards to find it. If you are interested in finding out about other attractions and such that are no longer in WDW, you can check out this web site: http://waltdatedworld.bravepages.com/

The first time I ever flew was to Disney in about 1982 or 1983 (not sure, a long time ago). We flew Eastern and I remember it being something of an "official" airline of Disney because when we got off the plane in Orlando there were actually characters walking about the gate area greeting passengers.

Delta did use to be the official airline for Walt Disney World. There's a commercial about it on YouTube. I think they did sponser a ride, but I am not 100% sure.

I remember riding the Delta ride when I was there in 1991. I have a videotape somewhere of part of this ride. The building it used to be in now has the Buzz Lightyear ride.
