My Mum is off to Orlando and New York soon.

She really wants to go to Niagara Falls while shes there.

Any ideas on how to go about it or any excursions etc.

.... I'm assuming she plans to go to the American falls - I have been to them from the Canadian side and it was very easy to book a trip from the hotel, but you are talking about a very long way from NY to Niagara!!

We saw the people on the American side in yellow ponchos walking down the side of the American falls - I don't think they get much of a view of the Horseshoe falls (the part of the falls you see in all the tourist shots), but possibly a helicopter flight is offered over the falls and they may want to consider this too so they see it all.

Helicopter flights were offered as an extra when we went on our tour on the Canadian side, and my sons and DH did this.

Nope Niagara Falls. I've booked the trip though keith Prowse.

Cheers

Just in case your booking isn't confirmed yet, I was going to recommend using Jet Blue to fly from JFK to Buffalo and then getting a tour from there (or cab, but book with a Canadian firm they are cheaper). From all the reviews I read about Jet Blue them, although they are a low-cost airline, their service is exceptional. www.jetblue.com.

We were going to visit Niagara Falls earlier in the year ex New York and then flying home from Toronto but had to cancel due to Sars (hubby wouldn't have been able to go into the office for 2 weeks if we had stuck to original plans!).

Hi Muppett :) The American Falls (or Rainbow falls) and the Horseshoe Falls are both part of the Niagara Falls - it's just the American Falls are on the US side and the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side :)

Can you tell us more about the trip you booked through Keith Prowse (cost etc?)

It costs just under £500 for both of them and that includes air fare, tour guide, food visiting both US and Canada sides of it. Its a really long daytrip.
