new york question

I know this is a disney place and we are staying there soon. but a quick New York question. Any one know roughtly how long it takes to walk from 39th st to 51st St. I have heard the streets are quite close together. We are staying at 39th and picking up a tour at 51st St beach club WDW from may 18 to 25th

Is 39th street where Macy's is? we stayed at the doubletree on w47th and it was about 15mins walk up broadway to Macy's. (probably not even 15, but I wasn't timing it.

Actually I think Macy's is 34th - so I would say 15 to 20 mins!

....it's a great walk too, through Times Square and the Garment District - we walked 47th to 34th with a 7 year old and back with absolutely no problems. (Yes we also stayed at the Doubletree AND shopped at Macy's)!!

If you can wait the 38 days until I get there, I can even count the steps for you!!

I would agree that it is about 15minutes. The streets are alot closer together than avenues and keep this is mind when booking your hotel. We thought a few avenues away would be an easy walk to broadway, but on a long cold winter's day it certainly wasn't enjoyable lol.
