This morning we caught the downtown loop bus to Brooklyn Bridge which seemed to take forever, we gotoff a stop early and just walked as it was lovely and warm in the sunshine. We kept seeing damaged bicycles attached to lampposts.

Headed towards the general direction of the bridge taking pics along the way.

Got to the other side needing the loo, found a supermarket that served drinks and more importantly had a restroom. The drinks area consisted of a drinks machine and a few seats so just made use of the loo and bought a couple of chocolate bars and a bottle of milkshake for the boys (would have felt cheeky leaving without buying anything!).

It's strange but since we got back we have seen a number of movies/programmes that have featured this park. We just headed down in the general direction of the river to get some bridge photos and came across it by accident. We've now got to the point where if NY is in a film we watch it whether its good or not just to see if we know anywhere!!!!

We walked back over the bridge to go and find Southstreet Seaport.
John was fascinated by how the cars were parked.

Went into the shopping arcade and found the best Christmas shop ever, I bought one with 'New York 2011' on it but the assistant said she could write anything on, names, dates etc but I was more than happy with this, said everything I wanted it to. We've got quite a collection of tree ornaments with places and dates of holidays on.

Had something to eat and explored some more.

Walked back uptowards Ground Zero to visit the Winter Gardens the tour guide had told us about early in the week. This gentleman was proudly polishing this plaque outside the fire station just opposite Ground Zero.

We caught the subway back as we were bored with the buses. A lovely chap helped us with buying the tickets from a machine. We caught the train to Grand Central Station and then a shuttle to Times Square.

Had the New York Knicks vs Milwaukee bucks game tonight so ate at the same place as previously as its nearby and passed all the waiting TV vans broadcasting the game. A new player Carmelo Anthony was making his debut for the team tonight, he'd cost $65million so there was a great deal of interest in tonights game, packed to capacity it was a brilliant atmosphere.

We were enjoying it - honestly!!!!
