I wish I was on here saying I was planning another trip to Orlando but alas, DH has put foot down and said we can't go until 2009. Therefore we're going to Italy next year instead :(

Anyway it is DH's 40th in April so I thought I'd surprise him and the girls (will then be ages 14 & 7) and book a trip to New York as it's somewhere we've always wanted to go.

Not quite sure how I'm going to afford to do this but never mind! Has anyone got any tips on child friendly hotels, who to fly with etc etc and is April a good month to go?

Thanks in advance xx

I would hav ethought April would be lovely, I went in March and it was bitterly cold, and I reckon later on could be stiffling hot.

We have been twice now, once in July and the other was the end of Oct. July was very hot. We flew with AA and stayed at the Travel lodge Times square(at least i think that was what it was called), we had a great view.

Thinking of booking again for when the kids are off in Oct. DD is in heaven when we go with all the shopping.

I went to NY with my mum late April/early May this year. The weather was warm most of the time, but we needed light jackets in the evenings. It's a lovely time of year to visit :thumbsup2 We flew with BA and they were great as always. Can't help with the child friendly hotels though.

I went in April 2004 and it was very warm, although needed coats in the evening, however April is never predictable with the weather as it could be cold or warm etc.

We flew with Continental they were really good and the advantage for me was they flew from Gatwick. Can't help with child friendly hotels though, sorry.

We went this April and it rained and it rained and it rained. Apparently this can happen in April, but they were on Flood Alert :scared1:

I am not exaggerating when I say that cars parked at the side of the roads were two foot under water in some streets!

The day when it didn't rain was sweatshirt weather :)
