New York - How cold 12/25 - 31?

It is getting harder and harder to schedule vacation! The week between Christmas and NYE definitely works for us, but how cold is it really in New York in late December? Thanks everybody!!

It's variable, but I'd prepare for teens or 20s at night.

It can vary like crazy....but still go. We're headed there for a quick get-away during the same week. I plan to take the kids to a few museums, visit some friends (in Jersey and Westchester...so we'll be in the car then), and basically get around on the subway....so underground...not cold.

It totally varies, we go every year in December to see the Christmas decorations and the tree at Rockerfeller Center and it has been in the unseasonably warm 50's and it has been in the low 20's. Definately bring a heavy coat, hats, gloves, earmuffs, scarves. And if you forget anything there are stands everywhere that will sell you what you need. I can't even tell you how many pair of gloves and scraves I've bought my crew over the past years.

Like everyone said, it really varries. It could be anywhere from the teens to up near 40. I would prepare for the cold though. And while all of the buildings block the wind, they can also block the sun at times making it feel colder. But definitely go! There's nothing better than NYC at Christmas!!
