I know this is too soon, but do you have any plans?
Anything you do traditionally?
Go out, stay home and party, stay home and sleep?

I ususally stay home and sleep but I might do something fun this year.

Too early for me to plan. I need to see if my brother will be in town and if my DH will be off for New Years (he wasn't last year). Usually we stay inside somewhere as it is just too dang cold to be outside. Half the time we go to a party at a friend's or something like that, and half the time we stay home.

About 15 years ago DH and I were almost hit head-on by a drunk driver. He narrowly missed us and ended up going through a store window.

For the past 14 years we have stayed at home, have a candlelight dinner, toast each other at midnight (he usually has to wake me up LOL), and go to bed.

This is what we will do for the rest of our lives!

It’s my nephew’s birthday, so we usually go out to a special restaurant. He’ll be 21 this year! (Boy, do I feel old!) We’ve been going to the same place since he was very young. They put up tons of decorations for the holidays. We usually eat early – not only is it easier to get a reservation, but then he can go celebrate with his girlfriend.

New Year's Eve, this year, will be DS's 15th BD! Sure, I've got a few years before any 'legal' implications are involved with him but, I always live that day as his BD and, Not New Year's Eve! It can be conflicting though. :( At midnight, I'm usually alone!! :( But, I wasn't alone that night almost 15 years ago! ;)

:) :)

Cheers to New Year's celebrations!! ;)

My tradition is that i refuse to stay in :teeth: This year we are going into my local city centre (which is Birmingham), going round a few bars and then ending up either in the main square area where they will have live music 'pop' bands playing (not too famous ones :)) and watching the fireworks af midnight or if the weather is bad watching the fireworks from our plush hotel room as it over looks the area. We did this a few years ago and had lots of fun, if the weather is kind to us it great. We fill a small rucksack with beers and a bottle of champagne, find a nice spot and wait to welcome the new year in :bounce:

Then in the morning its off the the sauna and pool area to relax.

I don't even know what city I'll be living in. If it's Orlando, I might just go to MK since I have an AP this year instead of an SP, and I've never been there on NYE.

KimRaye, our son's share a birthday! My Drew will be 4 on December 31st. :)

We usually have his party on the 30th though. People are hesitant to leave their homes on the 31st, so we try and plan it for a day where we know people can come over to celebrate.

The only New Years I have celebrated in a big way was 1999/2000. We had a sit down dinner party, and all our guests stayed over our house. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. This year we will probably have another sit down dinner party, but it will only be the 4 of us. :)

DH and I will probably quietly celebrate the New Year at home, just the two of us this year. DD will be on a New Year's cruise with her DH and his family and although she's excited about it, this will be the first New Year's that she won't be here celebrating with us and she's sad about that. I know I'll miss her that night, but will know she's probably having a wonderful cruise so will be happy for her. :D We prefer to stay home, rarely ever go anywhere that night (too many drunk idiots out there!!), and we always have cold shrimp and a bottle of champagne to "ring in the New Year!"

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are my holidays to work this year.

New Years Eve.... no plans so far this year. But everybody be sure to party for me. That's my & DW's anniversary. :) The whole world celebrates the day we got married. LOL! :teeth: We spent it at WDW several years ago & had a blast. Rang in the new year at Pleasure Island & had an incredible time!!! :)
