New Year's

Has anyone gone to wdw for the week of New Year's? If you do not stay at the parks to see the fireworks; where would be a good place to see them? I know the parks are crowded on New Year's Eve but are they crowed on New Year's Day?

I go to the parks for New Year's Eve, last year MGM it was fun, and it didn't feel to crowded, this year we're going to Epcot. We stay on prop. so we go to Animal Kingdom for EMH on Jan 1 and very few people make it up that early on the morning. We then went back to bed and then Magic Kingdom later that afternoon and stayed until 2am, it wasn't over crowded but a little busy. We were able to ride everything that day and then some.

Once we went to MGM on New years Day, and it wasn't bad at all until after noon. If you don't want to be in a park all day to see the fireworks at midnight. you could make your way to the Poly beach, or near the contemporary to see them.
