Okay, we've been to MVMCP a couple of times and really enjoyed them. Now we're considering New Year's Eve- what is it like- the activities and fireworks?
We've been to the parks during spring break before- are the crowds like that?
Would really appreciate some info. Thanks much!!

NYE and July 4 are the most crowded days of the year. The MK will often close on NYE, so you'll have to arrive early.

Be prepared for crowds like you've never seen before!

New Year's Eve in MK is like no crowd you've ever experienced! We have been there on all of the crowded days and this one is the most crowded.
You will have a blast if you remember a couple of things -
this is not the day to plan ride every ride in mk, plan on riding a few fastpass rides and enjoying the time fillers meanwhile, like small world, carousel, pirates, etc.
make sure you get your horn and hat at the designated areas at the beginning of those times, they go fast!
We had a great time just talking with all of the people from so many states and countries. We got our snacks and camped out on main street about 10 p.m. in the middle of the street and it was crazy, but in a good Disney way.
Don't try to leave the park immediately, hang back and do some shopping as the launches are packed and the lines getting to them are sometimes vicious. We did try to leave the one year and got separated, DH had two kids and I had two and this scared the kids. Now we just wait a little while.
Have a great New Year's Eve, just don't plan on getting a lot of riding in (or if you have one or two must sees do those first) It is a day for relaxing and enjoying all of the atmosphere Disney can put into the holiday.

I suggest perhaps taking a look at Epcot. Fiance and I went there last New Years Eve (2005), not knowing what to expect. I am a long time Disney veteran, and have been pretty much every time of the year but had never been on New Years Eve.

It was a BLAST! I thought perhaps they would just kind of do it up a little, but they went all out. There were different dance stages in each country, each one playing different music, from rock, to pop, to techno, to salsa, they had music for all kinds. It was definitely full of people, but not so much that you were contstanly running into people. Plus, unlike in MK, you are free to partake in the "drinks" of your choice!

I was so impressed that we will definitely be going back again, that is one of the most fun New Years Eve's I've ever had, I mean the place was just a big massive party, and they had TWO fireworks shows for New Years, one at 9 PM and the other at 11:50 with the countdown!

While were on the subject, I hope you don't mind travelin' girl, this will be our first trip on NYE and are going to be spending the day/night at MGM - anyone been to MGM NYE.....any thoughts??? Should we stay the whole day??

:sunny:

I don't mind the question Daisie, the more info, the better. So, even if you're staying at a monorail line resort, you need to stay the entire day, so you can
be in the park of your choice?! I thought maybe they did tickets for the evening, like they do for MVMCP for crowd control... Thanks for your help everyone! It's always nice to go back later in the afternoon for the evening, but that doesn't sound like a choice!
