New Years Week

Is a cruise the week of New Years the same as a merry time cruise? Or will it be different from the one right before it? We're doing a b2b over Christmas and new years and I'm wondering if things will change at all from one week to the next.

We did the week starting on 12/26/2021. They took everything down that morning. No Christmas decorations up. Had New Years Eve fireworks and celebrations.

We did a NYE cruise on the Magic in 2003/04 . All the Christmas decorations were still up. Huge party in the atrium on New Year's Eve. Our cruise ended on January 3 and as we waited in line to leave the ship they were taking down the Christmas decorations.
My kids favorite memory is watch two burly longshoremen take a sledge hammer to the huge Gingerbread house.

For our New Years Cruise last year they took the decorations down before we boarded. We had so much fun at the New Years Eve Party, we hope to make it a regular tradition!

Quick question. We’re retired (not that it matters) and don’t really have NYE clothes. I know the standard answer is to wear whatever you’re comfortable with, but do you think a “fancy” sweater and “regular” black pants is too under dressed.

I personally think you'll look lovely and and on top of that be warm. Lovely and Comfortable, now that's what I call style.

@Graymoon That video made me smile, laugh and dance in my chair. You have a lovely family. You, your wife and girls are so happy together. Usually for vacations it was just my mom and me maybe a friend or one of my older sisters once in a while. We had a lot of fun on our vacations. My mom made everything fun. She was easy going like you and your wife seem. Your girls are sweet and beautiful. I hope you all have a Happy Holiday Season. I'm going on my first cruise next October with my best friend.
