New years trip

My daughter,19, and I will be going to the SoCal area for the Rose Parade over the new year's eve holiday (Dec. 28-Jan.5) We would also like to do either Disneyland or California Adventure (or both) while we are there. We have both been to WDW several time (last time summer 2000). I need advice on which park, ticket choices, how much time to alot, crowds, and anything else you think we should know. Also should we even try to do New Year's Eve at one of the parks? Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, I have never been to DL myself, but for our upcoming trip we are buying 3-day park hopper passes. We plan on spending two days at DL and one day at DCA.

My guess is the park would be extremely crowded on New Years Eve.
