New Years Trip OKW

Arrived on the 30th at 3 PM. No line for check in and my room was ready. My only request was for a top floor which I got , building 35 nice location. If you are using Visa Rewards card know how much is on the card, I was not sure of the exact amount and the cast member had to swipe the card many times to get the exact amount.


Room was in good shape no major issues, exact for the fact that they did not leave any dish soap. As usual the frying pan was destroyed.

On the 2 or 3 calls I made to housekeeping for blankets, more towels, soap they arrived quickly, much faster than in the past. The only thing that was disappointing was the mattress on the sleeper bed. Looked like it had been used for 20 years. DD 16 just dealt with it, by the time we got back to the room she was exhausted.


I was a little disapointed when housekeeping told me they no longer make up sofa beds.


Over all another great trip to OKW. Ready to go back

I'm glad you enjoyed your NY trip. Sorry to hear about the matress, and hope it gets replaced.

We had a great trip last week...December 29 to January 3rd, and would do it again, and I sure do wish we were still there. There was too much ice on the roads yesterday so I cancelled my classes, and today it's snowing.

Someone was trying to use a Disney Visa Reward card at the store at BWV, and it was a very hard transaction. We were behind the person...went into the other line that had more than 4 people, and the problem still wasn't resolved by the time we left. The manager was working on it with the cashier.

What? Since when? Is that just at OKW or is it DVC across the board??? IMO if they're gonna count it as sleeping accomodations then it's a bed just like any other and I would expect to find it made up! We've always found the sleeper sofas made up before...how new is this??? That's a lazy rip off.

We had a December 30 check in to VWL in a 1 BR, and the sofa bed was made. Sounds like somebody just got lazy . . . .

WE were in OKW w/o 12/14 and sleeper was not made. Had an awful mattress also but our DD 20 yr old was too exhausted to mind either, but next time if we drive she said she is bringing an aerobed for the floor. We were warned about the fry pans so we brought a nonstick one with us but our villa had nonstick pans in it. Go figure. We were in building 38 and there was a housekeeping cart outside all week so if anyone needed towels they were right there. Since this was our first DVC visit we figured that was the norm. Can't wait to go again. AKL 5/09 and OKW again in December.
