We are coming down to the area for NYE and the following week, would love to see the WDW fireworks on NYE but might not be able to get into the parks, let alone get reservations for dinner...

Does Univ or IslandsOf do anything for NYE that you've seen in the past??

Yes...there is a HUGE NYE party at CityWalk with live bands, food and fireworks. There is also a VIP party that you can pay for to see a big name band and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The details won't be announced until probably early November.

Is there a coverage charge for the bands/food/fireworks - or just the VIP Party!

I guess I'll just have to wait till November as you said...

Now to only decide if WDW or Univ is better that evening choices, choices!

I think it's only the cost of the VIP party that can get expensive. The clubs and restaurants are open that night so you can eat anywhere. Both Disney and Universal are going to be slammed so take your pick.

Here's what the NYE party was last year:

Experiencethe award-winning soul sensations of The Four Tops and The Temptations with multiple shows throughout the night. You'll also enjoy live entertainment in every club. Between shows, dine on all-you-can-eat gourmet cuisine, including filet mignon, jumbo shrimp and decadent desserts. Cap off the night with a midnight countdown, champagne toast, confetti burst and more. New Year's Eve ticket is valid for one-night admission to the New Year's Eve Party at CityWalk between 8pm and 2am only.

The tickets were $114.99 plus tax per person.

Must be 21 or older to enter. Valid ID required.
