.....do you have any?

For me I have two very important ones:

----to reach 199 pounds by the end of January and

----to do the work The Father has planned for me, whatever that may be! :teeth:

DH and I were just talking about how far the Father has brought us over the last 3 years and it has been absolutely amazing! ::yes:: That's why I get excited when I find out in his time what he has planned for me throughout the coming year. This year we did a lot of ministering in a lot of churches and touched a lot of lives. I'm hoping to do much of the same next year.

My weight loss hasn't budged since Thanksgiving and for awhile there I was getting VERY upset. However, I measured my waist this morning and it's down to 34 inches. A couple of weeks ago, I was only about 35-35 1/2 inches.(My original measurement in the waist was 39 inches, so 5 inches are gone!! :teeth: ) So the weight isn't moving, but the inches are. I'm going to start Tae-Bo again...today as a matter of fact and I know that will make a BIG difference. So I'm hoping to be in ONEDERLAND by the end of January and at my goal weight either in Feb or March. I just need to keep going the way I am and knock some of those bad carbs that I let back in, out of my diet until I reach goal. It may be awhile before I have breakfast at Cracker Barrell. The grits, hashbrowns, and biscuits.....too much!!!!

So how about my DIS friends what resolutions do you have and do you believe you can stick to them this year?

Would love to hear from you,

Denise

Is finding a job a resolution? I never thought it would be so hard after being laid off in October. Other than than just hit the gym 3 times a week.

I was hoping for 50 pounds by the end of the year, having started low-carb, better eating the third week in July. I have reached 41 pounds, so will not make it, but pretty close. I hope to do about 30 more in '04, slowly but surely.

You are doing great, you and Charles both, Denise. Keep up the good work.

Resolution 1: I want my flat stomach back!
Resolution 2: I want to find a job! I'm losing it at the end of January because my store is closing...I also resolve to NOT go back to waitressing!

I wish you all the best on your resolutions. I find resolutions too stressful like I'm setting myself up for failure. Some years ago I resolved to stop with the New Year's resolutions. It's the only one I ever managed to keep:D

Mine is simple - I am swearing of Ebay for 6 months, until after out trip to DL this summer.

I want to find a new job and be less of pack-rat :p The downside to a new job is that I won't be able to take a Disney vacation for a while but then I'll probably be able to afford a better one :)

For those of you resolving to lose weight, you should check out the WISH board. Everyone there is really supportive and have helped me to lose most of my weight ::yes::

I'll have to remember to check out the WISH board...but I have a week to finish all the Christmas goodies first! :p

We have a few here.

1st mine.
I've put on about 10 lbs since spring of last year....there is a new curves opening here in town the 2nd week in January, and I'll be signing up. My BIL owns a Gold's Gym in a City about 1/2 hour from me, but that hour travel time keeps me from going.

2. I'm becoming very unhappy in a job that I use to love. Something within the administration is making me not enjoy going to work, and doing what I love to do. i'll be taking a hard look at this, and may end up jobless within the next few months.

3. I need to remember that my DD's are only 6 and 7 and let them have a bit more freedom to make those stuipd mistakes that children of that age make. Like falling out of that tree I just told them not to climb...yeah, that stuff.

4. To budget better...well, I have this one every year
DH only has 1

1. To get to Gold's everyday, as he had until about 4 months ago. He drives buy it on the way to his store, so he doesnt have the travel time I do.

DD's both had to make a "my wishes for the new year" for school, and DD7 said her main wish was for "Josh and all of his friends could come home from Iraq, and not have to go back".....DD6's wish was "that nobody had to go to the food shelf"...we were there on Wednesday dropping off personal care items, and DD6 just couldnt understand why people go there...guess after my 1/2 our discussion with her, she gets it.

Big wishes for little girls. FYI, Josh comes home this Sunday from Cali, and will be home for 12 days, once he heads back, he's gone to Iraq for what they estimate to be an 18 month tour. He is my 19 year old cousin, and the "man of DD7's dreams"...he's been super special to her since she was born.

1. Pass the bar exam in February and find a job afterwards.
2. Lose all the weight I gained while pregnant. Both DH and I are starting a diet after the Sugar Bowl. We both have weight to lose, but we also want start eating healthy and exercising to get into shape.

I have lots of plans.

I want to get back on my diet. I've only been off of it for a week and hopefully haven't done TOO much damage.

I want to figure out what I'm really meant to do. I'm tired of meandering from job to job when I know that there must be a "right" place for me. Layoffs, crazy bosses and corrupt companies are driving me a bit wacky.

Finally, I want to get all home improvement projects done. Considering the things that need doing, that's saying a lot.

Here it goes.

Not to get so worked up about my daughters softball team. She plays for a very elite team, and I know down deep it's not the best decision for us for personal reasons, but I'll stay calm for the year.

To try to convince DH to relocate to Florida- I HAVE to find a job, so might as well be in Florida???

I'm sure I'll have more by next week, but that's a start..

Suzanne, when you're really thin (like I was about a year ago...lol) gaining weight can be really tough...I wish you the best of luck!!! I did it because of a medicine I went on, but I gained about 15 lbs too much and I have a little pouch of a belly...trying to get rid of that now!!! Don't overdo it! :)

It is the only one I have kept as well

I have two main ones:
1. To get a 4.0 this semester
and
2. To go to the gym five times a week (two days aren't a problem for me, but I have a feeling five will be)...want to look good in the Spring Break bikini :)

I have a couple resolutions:

1- get a new job. I finally found one and I HATED it!!!! I hope to find some kind of employment before the new year but since that's in a few days it is highly unlikely.

2- I lost 1/2 the weight I wanted to on Atkins and have pretty much maintained it and starting January 1st I am back on the Atkins band wagon to finish it.

3- Get healthier. the first time around on Atkins I didn't really exercise very much but now that I lost a good chunk of weight I have more energy and I want to get into a routine. When my life is structured I do better! I also need to start drinking more water and taking my vitamins regularly. I know I will be eating better on the diet.

4- Save money for WDW!!!!!

Can we have something like a WISH board for people who want to de-clutter and get organized? I waste SO much time and energy due to my messes. Anyone interested?

I don't do well with general goals. I need specifics. So, instead of "lose weight," I want to "weigh between 120-125# on 12/31/04." That's the only specific one I've come up with. Last year's were specific, and I met most of them. I paid down $10K in debt, went to >6 concerts (gotta force myself to get out of the house and have fun), and went on the 3 trips I had planned (plus one).

Anyway, I'm not organized enough to plan specific goals for getting organized! I need a support group.
