Having DD's Boyfriends family here for New Years Brunch. I thought maybe you wonderful Dis-ers would have some make ahead warm up type of recipes??? Thought maybe fruit, some muffins, spiral ham and then I need some help...........anyone???? We have a nut allergy to contend with so I need things without nuts or where nuts can be obmitted. Thanks!!

Here's a recent thread about Christmas breakfast ideas:

Here's a few of my personal favorite make-ahead recipes:

Egg/Sausage/Cheese Breakfast Casserole

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/egg-and-sausage-casserole/detail.aspx

(Good basic recipe, I switch it up with different cheeses, meats (or meatless), seasonings or add sauteed onions, green peppers and/or mushrooms, depending on the crowd.)

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/apple-raisin-french-toast-strata/detail.aspx

(Per advice from reviewers, spread softened cream cheese on raisin bread before cubing bread.)

Eggs Benedict Casserole

http://www.food.com/recipe/eggs-benedict-casserole-121583

(Per advice from reviewers, lightly toasted english muffins. Kinda bland, so added some S&P after the 1st time. Tried homemade hollandaise, but found Knorr's packaged was tastier & easier.)

I make a baked french toast for Christmas morning that is out of this world.

You slice a loaf of challah bread into 2 inch slices and place in a lasagne sized pan. In a bowl mix 6 eggs, 2 cups of half & half, 2 tsp of vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover and place in fridge overnight.

The next morning, preheat the oven to 350.

In a medium sized pot combine 3/4 cups of butter, 1 1/3 cup of brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of corn syrup. Heat until everything is melted & well mixed. Pour this mixture evenly over the bread. Bake for 45 minutes and serve.

I've made this too, but just with regular French bread. Scrumps. Also very easy. If you are making it for company, I would serve it with breakfast sausage and also do a fruit platter/fruit salad for company.

cheater pecan rolls

12 frozen rhodes texas rolls
cup of pecans
1 stick butter melted
4 oz vanilla pudding mix and 4 oz butterscotch pudding mix
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

spray 9 x 13 pan
sprinkle pecans on bottom, place froz rolls on top
sprinkle pudding, cinnamon, brown sugar over and around rolls
pour butter over them
cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise overnight on counter
uncover and put in cold oven in morrning
set oven to 350 and bake 35-45 minutes until golden

I haven't made rolls with flour and yeast since I found this recipe!
They are the best!

I have used French bread & Italian bread...it's all good! I found that hallah bread has a softer crust which I like.
