New Year's FANTASY 12/28/13

So, I have never been on here before - at least not to participate. The NYE cruise will be our 9th cruise, but first one over any holiday, and we (my husband & I) will be traveling with our son & his wife (30 & 27), our daughter (21) & her boyfriend (24). I am not sure how to get involved or on these lists or anything! We have never done FE before, and it looks really intriguing, but not sure if it is mainly for younger people. Any info you can give me on how to benefit from this thread would be greatly appreciated. ~ Sally W from NC :wave2:

Welcome Aboard! :wave2: You've also been added to the Roll Call!

Hi folks. My girlfriend who is traveling with us has decided to bring her 21 year old step son. I vaguely seem to remember reading about an 18-21 club/group?? Can anyone enlighten me?

Does anyone know if there is a separate thread going specifically for that age group on our cruise? Thanks!!

Are you on the Facebook page? They do have a separate face book page. Can't remember the name fantasy newyears 2013 and young adult will get you to the page. I think they only have 5 members. My son who will turn 21 on Sunday is on this page.

Great - thanks so much. I will forward to her.

Hi all, just letting you know we decided to move our trip this weekend and will no longer be on this cruise. We saw the VGT rates for early December and decided why not do 3 trips for the price we were paying for this one. So we are booked on the November 30 Eastern Fantasy, the March 31 Disney Magic, and we are still trying to decide on what our last one will be! Sorry, I'll miss you guys as I am sure being at Sea on NYE will be amazing!

Bad news from me: my family has had to cancel this cruise. :( To help assist in the final months before cruising, I'll still add and delete to the Roll Call over on the first page. I hope you all have a great cruise over New Year's.

I've made this change on the Roll Call. Sounds like you have some great other cruises planned!

So DH and I booked this one forever ago....I think when it first opened, but we have been hmmm-ing and haw-ing about keeping it or saving a few $$s for Hawaii (Aulani) as our next "biggie". Well....we can't ever seem to resist a DCL opportunity, so we finally decided to go ahead with this trip!

Can't wait to toast the new year with you all on the Fantasy!

We are Penny and Mike, ("pennymike", very cryptic!), I'll be 43 by this trip, DH 45; No shorties, just a couple of kids at heart! This will be cruise number 14 for us. Yes....a bit of an addiction! :)

Looking forward to reading through the thread and 'catching up'! :)

Beth - Thanks for going through and adding everyone. We are in room 7188.

If you are still on this trip....and still in this stateroom.....then we will "almost" be neighbors! I'm finally getting in on the DIS conversation, even tho we've been booked for this for EVER! :) Anyway....my DH and I are in room 7182.....not far down the hall! ;)

Hi everyone! We were originally booked on the Thanksgiving cruise but switched over to this cruise to better fit our schedule! We have spent 3 Thanksgivings and a St. Patrick's Day on a Disney cruise ship so it only seemed natural to check off another holiday!

We are a family of 4- Charlie, Suzanne, Margaret (17) and Elizabeth (14). Stateroom: 7180.

This will be our 5th cruise and second time on this iternary. We can't wait to be part of all the cruise activities. Spent some time reading the past posts and can't wait to join the FE and other activities.
If you all are still on this cruise, and still in this stateroom, then we will be neighbors! My DH Mike and I will be in Rm 7182! :)

Hi Penny,

We are still sailing in room 7188 so we will almost be neighbors.

Welcome to the group. I can't wait - only 76 days to go!

:) Yes! We were on the fence for so long.....finally decided to go ahead with it. We booked this trip SO early on that we got a nice 'deal' on it (as much of a "deal" as any cruise is, anyway!), it seemed a shame to bump it out.

I haven't seen any conversations about excursions. Mike and I are probably going to just catch cabs and hit the airport beach at St Maarten, since we've always wanted to do that and have yet to make it. St Thomas we may do the same and hit Magens Bay. Anyone have any other ideas of "on your own" things to do at either island? We have done the Mt. Bike adventure and Sugar Plantation hike on St Maarten. LOVED both! The hike isn't as intense now I see, since when we did it, we CLIMBED first and THEN did the downhill hike. Looks like they take you to the top now. The Mt Bike excursion was TONS of fun.....for ME....my DH thought I was trying to do him in! :D Poor guy! It WAS very rustic and a bit hardcore for anyone not currently biking! The America's Cup boat race was cool, too.

One of our faves at St Thomas I think would be the Eco Hike on St John.

What are people doing? Any cool plans? I'm getting excited now..... :)

Our family would love to run in the Castaway Cay 5K? How do you sign up for the run and can kids run also? We've been to Castaway Cay before and missed this.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Castaway Cay 5K! Even better now that they are making it more 'organized' and 'official'! Great race bib and 'medal'. I keep hoping they will get to the point where they have a Shutters staffer at the finish line....and maybe even a character to high 5 you as you finish? You KNOW we'd buy those pix!!!!

Planning to run! I never count on a PR at this one, of course, since it is always rather toasty, but it doesn't get any better than running on Mickey's island, then heading out to quick change/shower at Serenity Bay, have a cabana massage with my DH, and then camp my happy bum on a beach lounger for the rest of the day! :cool1::woohoo:

Who else is running???
