I was able to get a 10:30 boarding time. I thought boardings began at 11:00?? Is that a change, or is my memory just bad.

Sorry you didn't get a cabana. It was posted on the FaceBook group that they were all taken by concierge groups even before Platinums got a chance.

I was reading yesterday about the 10:30 Port Arrival Times. I think this is fairly new.

It is new- the times are in 15 minute increments now.

Good morning everyone!

Well, I guess we are making New Years cruising a tradition - this will be our 3rd in a row! We brought in 2012 on the Dream and 2013 on the Fantasy.

Please add us to the roll call: Me (Jennifer), DH (Gottfried) and DD (Gillian - 13).

We are gold and I just made our Palo Brunch reservation this am and a 10:30 port arrival time.

I'll be happy to answer any questions about NYE since we were on the Fantasy for her 1st one .

Hi! The 2013 Fantasy NYE trip is our 3rd Disney Cruise. We are Becky, Troy(DH), Taylor(DD, 11), and Tristan(DS, 8).

Our Cabin number isn't assigned yet so I will add that when we get it. We plan to spend two nights at the GF before the cruise if anyone else will be there let me know!

I'm hoping maybe my DD can connect (on here or instagram or kik or vine or wherever else they find cool now) with a few others her age before we go because she (along with me) is nervous about the first year of having a little freedom with the Edge club!

Will NYE be formal night? I reserved Remy for 7:00 that night - figured it would be a good night to go.

I reserved Palo bruch also. Thats something we've never done before, so I'm looking forward to it.

Yes, NYE will be formal night. There is a special menu and an awesome deck party leading up to the countdown to the New Year.
On a regular Eastern Itinerary the 4th night has been Pirate Night, but NYE fall on night 4, so I am thinking it will be on night 5? I'll dig out the navigators and check.

I was told that Pirate night is going to be on Sunday and Formal night will be on NYE which is Tuesday. They also told me that Monday and Thursday would be semi-formal. I have never heard of having 2 semi-formal's but others on the FaceBook page have heard the same thing.

I just looked at our navigators from 2012/2013 NY sailing on the Fantasy and there was formal night (NYE), pirate night and a semi-formal night - the rest were cruise casual. We just did a 12-night Med in July and there was only 1 formal and 1 semi-formal on that sailing as well.
What I have come to realize over the years of sailing with Disney is that everyone has their own definition of formal and semi-formal. I use the opportunity of formal night to get DH in a tux and to get great family photos. DD is 13 now and not into all of the character pictures, so the pictures I purchase from Shutters are the great shots we get on NYE all dressed up.
Tip- rent a tux from the formal wear company on the DCL link. Super easy to do and the best part of it is that the tux (you can rent shoes as well) package is delivered to your stateroom (usually already hanging in the closet when you get to your cabin) and your room steward will take it away at the end of the cruise.
As for pirate night - just be aware that DCL can only have fireworks on 1 night only and it has been our experience during the past 2 NYE sailings we have done that they choose NYE for the fireworks. CMs do a really nice job explaining this to everyone.

The basic package we rent has the cummerbund.

Confirming . . . If you login and click on "my cruise activities," it lists pirate night as Sunday.

OOPS you are right...when I looked at my notes I was reading the T that I wrote down as Thursday not Tuesday. New Years Eve falls on Tuesday when we are in St. Maarten and that is Formal Night. Sorry about that.

So, I have never been on here before - at least not to participate. The NYE cruise will be our 9th cruise, but first one over any holiday, and we (my husband & I) will be traveling with our son & his wife (30 & 27), our daughter (21) & her boyfriend (24). I am not sure how to get involved or on these lists or anything! We have never done FE before, and it looks really intriguing, but not sure if it is mainly for younger people. Any info you can give me on how to benefit from this thread would be greatly appreciated. ~ Sally W from NC
