New Year's FANTASY 12/28/13

Happy New Year everyone, only one more New Year to celebrate before we can start planning this trip.

Happy New Year to everyone:cheer2:

One down, one to go, THEN we'll be aboard. Whew!

Meanwhile, New Year's wishes for the "rest" of the 2013 itineraries - may be a banner year, with MAGIC Transatlantics leading up to the New Year's FANTASY

I did it! Put our deposit down on the cruise today. Now it's official. My sister-in-law, her DH, and their 3 daughters (at the time of sailing they will be 9, 7, and 2.5) booked as well. So there will be 9 of us (my DH, me, and our DDs who will be 10 and 7). I am so excited. Unfortunately, it's hard to find many people who understand how I could be so excited about a trip that's 23 months and 2 weeks away. Oh well, I'll be excited all on my own. Can't wait to get to know you all over the next couple of years. :cool1:

My DH gave me the cruise deposit for Christmas. :cool1: I just need to check with my in-laws to see if I am booking for them too, then I am reserving our state room. The DDs asked for the same room that we had on the Dream, so we will be booking 2016. We actually really enjoyed being near the restaurants. I debated getting a verandah for a 7-night cruise, but I am worried about smoke. Any experience with this?

Sorry, never answered the smoke question. We have personally NEVER, in 4 different verandah locations, on MAGIC, WONDER, or DREAM, experienced a problem with second-hand smoke. There are threads on here that suggest otherwise, I'm just telling you our experience. Our one non-verandah was 2078 on the WONDER, which was a nice location. T

Congratulations:banana:
And great on having the rest of the family, too.
Let me know if you want any other info posted on the first page roll call.

OK - just bit the bullet and transferred a dummy booking to this cruise. I booked 2013, so we are right across the hall from you. My DD will be 13 then and my DS 16.

Yowza - the prices! But I love the idea of being on board for New Years. I would still like to see the Wonder itinerary for the same time frame (might be cheaper but out of Miami?) - thought it would be released today, but nada. I'm gonna keep checking, but for now, the Fantasy is the plan!

I wonder if the pricing moved up since booking opening?

Doesn't look like it. I compared the opening day pricing thread to current pricing, and its pretty close to the same - at least for the category I checked.

Jodie

:welcome: Jodie. I'm excited we are going to be neighbors. On our last cruise all the other DISers were far away.

We looked for cruises on the other ships too, but now my DD8 is so excited about going on the Fantasy, I don't think we'll change.

We are booked in 2015. Our daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren are on the other side of the ship. We transferred a dummy too. Looking forward to celebrating a holiday on the ship. We usually always book in this area and haven't had a bad experience yet. Being so close to the dining rooms was nice on our double dip on the Dream last August. Not having to use the elevators at dinner time made it really nice. Our June Fantasy cruise is the first time we won't all be right next to each other. We'll see how that works out. The grandchildren will be old enough now to come across by themselves. Our granddaughter will be just 11 and grandson 8 for this one. With only 5 months until our Fantasy western, we are all really getting excited.

Are your kids/grandkids in the same category room? Which stateroom? I'm not that picky and wouldn't mind swapping rooms with them if you want to be next door to them. PM me if you want to try and work that out.

Jodie

We booked this cruise with our friends on the opening week. We both booked veradah staterooms 7a forward. The prices are high, but I think the prices are just going to go up like they have for all holiday cruises.

Slooowly, we're getting folks onboard!
Hey, it's ONLY 22 months and 10 days to go!

We just returned from four nights on the Dream and booked this cruise. We cannot wait.

It will be myself, DH David, and our sons Clarke and Matthew. They will be 12 1/2 and 9 1/2 respectively at the time of the cruise,

I would love for them to email with some comparably aged kids ahead of time so they have an idea who will be in the kids club with them.

Greetings, Pamela!

I've added your info to Post #2, our list of cruisers. Check that list for comparable kids, there's only a few families listed so far, but I would guess the list will grow, especially next month after the FANTASY arrives in the US, and all the ceremonies and advertising starts again. Here's the shortcut to Post #2 - Ken

Hope everyone's been following the FANTASY as she crosses to NYC. There's a video log on the DCL website,
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/fantasy/
and a Dis meets group is going to be in Weehawken, NJ on Feb. 28 to greet her as she arrives to Manhattan's west side piers.

We just booked this one as a family cruise! It will be me, DH, DSS (15 at sailing), DS (4 at sailing), my parents, my two sisters, their husbands and hopefully a niece or nephew by then! hah

Hello, Lizzie!

I've added your info on post 2.
I love your avatar image, hope it's okay to "borrow" it for DW & her tiara girlfriends to use! They don't travel without theirs (and magic wands, as well!)
