We're planning on visiting US/IOA for the first time on the 30th & 31st of December. Yeah, I know, I couldn't have picked a busier time but it's before a cruise on the 2nd of Jan. Can anyone tell me who's experienced it first-hand, how busy is it really on New Year's Eve? (We spent NYE at Disney's MGM in Dec. 2002 and although it was somewhat crowded, the horrid rains drove everyone out.)

Any words of advice on how to deal with the crowds. Oh, and I know, it would have been great if we could have afforded (we're cruising remember) to stay at one of the US hotels and had FOTL, but alas, we've pricelined our stay.

Thanks for any help! :flower:

We did new years eve 2 years ago. We stayed onsite and thank goodness. The FOTL option with our rooms keys were great. Rarely did we wait more than 10 minutes for the popular rides. The usual waits were 1 - 2 hours long.

We went on Spider Man for the "millionth" time. The car we were in did not work that well. The other people in the car said they waited 2 days to ride this ride, because of the wait times. I said, do not worry, I am sure they will let us ride it again, in a working car - sure enough they did.

We also did the New Years eve party at city walk - very pricey, I think about 100 a person. But, the food was to die for. They had plenty of noise makers, etc. The only suggestion, if you do this - get in line for the entrance about 30 minutes before start time. The line will look long, but it goes fast. The other piece of advise, if you have a favorite bar, get your food outside and bring it inside. We like Pat OBriens and did this. We had great seats right in the f ront of the dueling pianos. However, I wanted to walk around and check everyone else out. Came back in about 1 hour, because this is where we really wanted to be. We managed to snag 1 seat, by the restrooms. My DH was a grump and said we should have never left......

All in all - it was great, especially if you are staying on-site.

Have fun. Donna from Maine
