Any ideas on what to do/where to go for NYE other than in the parks?

It is our AK day, and the park closes at 9. We plan on leaving around 7, then heading back to the hotel to rest for a bit. We don't have park-hopper, so I'm not sure what we can do that night.

Are there any New Years countdown activities/events over at Disney Springs or the resorts?

I wonder if its possible to see the fireworks at a resort?

who is travelling? We have an elementary aged daughter, and most resorts throw some sort of family friendly party beginning around 8. There are also some options at Yacht club and disney springs if you're a more adult crowd

My younger sister is in high school, and my parents are coming as well! I'm glad there's things going on in places other than in the parks!

You can see the fire works at the MK from out side the park someone else would probably be able to tell you a place to see then better then I can
