New Years Eve week booking!!!

Congrats!:cheer2:
We're finished...4 nights in BWV standard!! It actually took me longer today and whew...I was happy when she said it was available. I added on the basic dining plan because DDE is blacked out for NYE and NYday.

I hope everyone who has posted here is as successful as we've been!!!

Thanks for all your support Bobbi. I feel like having that drink your husband suggested right now but it's a tad early. Shucks.

I got a 2 bedroom, two queens for seven nights at the BCV's arriving on the 26th of Dec:santa: ...WooHoo!:woohoo: One more night to book:)

We love being there for the holiday season BUT I have to admit I am not crazy about being there for New Years! It is a nightmare there! At least being at the BCV's affords us the opportunity to go in and out of Epcot at will. I can't even imagine staying in a park all day.:sad2: Sorry to be Debbie Downer:) but do any of you really like New Years Eve? Help me enjoy it....I have found that it is too crowded and there are so many drunk people at Epcot it has actually been scary around the Uk area. I have heard most people in the MK stay there all day...I would never do that. I have thought of going into MGM but would only do so if I could enter at night for dinner. Help me enjoy this holiday:dance3:

I got my booking Dec 30 to Jan 2. I am done and it wasn't that bad. Got a little nervous as I forgot to call until around 10:30, but got through fairly quickly and it was available. AK Value Studio. Needed to save points for other trips this year.

Just booked this morning at 9:15 am for whole reservation 12/28/08-1/02/09 at OKW for 1 bedroom.-no problem. Have never done day-to-day reservations for any dvc since we joined in 1994. Have been xmas week for last 3 years with no problem either. I know some folks do the day-to-day regularly, but I don't think it is necessary for most reservations. Exceptions exist, but it should not be thought of as the rule of thumb for all reservations. Now the countdown to NYE ADRs! When we were the for NYE in the pst, we avoided MK and had dinner at Teppanyaki once and Brown Derby the other..I'll think we'll keep the same plan.

Well we're done. Funny thing happened though. When I dialed in at 9am the system patched me through to an operator before she had her headset on. I heard a room full of people talking but none to me. Thankfully she heard me say "Hello, anybbody there?" and picked up.

I did learn an interesting tidbit about booking HA rooms day-by-day. apparently they blocked my room with Special Needs the first day. I just needed to add days with MS as we went along.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer:) but do any of you really like New Years Eve? Help me enjoy it....

Well my first an only time there this past NYE I loved it! Much better than any gathering I had at home. (Well except for my grandmother's NYE parties. Sadly all just a memory now.)

I can tell you what we did NYE. Dec 30 we went to MK for the EMH and midnight fireworks. So Dec 31 we headed over to EPCOT for the early bird 7:30 fireworks. Then we walked around the world, sightseeing and enjoying the party mood. By the time we made our way to the exit it was around 9pm. The golf ball did double duty as a disco ball and the party was hopping. We danced our way out of the park and back to our resort for the party. SSR had the best party, IMHO. More intimate and protected from the crowds. People spread out on the lawn and we had a view of all the fireworks at midnight (DTD, MK, EPCOT and MGM).

After we hopped a bus to MGM for the EMH. Got to see Osborne Lights with absolutely no crowd. (Just us and a few CMs.)

So our secret was to turn into night owls and tour during the night time EMHs. We avoided the majority of the crowd. (It felt downright empty by the time we went through. Like an October night.)

Downside to that plan is that it doesn't work for young children or early birds. But if you're able to stay awake until 4-5am, it's great.

Just got off the phone with MS and we are booked from 12/26 to 1/2/09. This will be our third NYE at WDW. I must admit we treat it like any other day. The crowds are big, but such is the life this week at WDW. MUCH more enjoyable than sitting in the snow in Michigan!

This time we'll be at BWV and plan to watch fireworks from our balcony :goodvibes

Were you able to get BW view or SV booking all at once, today?

One more call for me. So far so good. I will just be glad when everything is booked, and then I can just wait for flights to become available.

I'm done :cool1:! I called at 8:00 AM CST and got my final day. We're there from 12/28 - 1/3.

I want to book for 2009-2010, but I will be in Australia when the booking window opens and I am sure not going to call day by day from Australia.

I suppose it will be wait list for me.

I booked for the first time using the 11 month window, an experience to be sure. I got my 2 br at BCV for Dec 29 thru Jan 2. Whewwww.....

We will finish up today, but relized last night that we are 11 points short for one of our rooms......oops!

We can borrow those 11 points I guess.

I hope you get finished up just as you want! Have you invited friends, so you need another room? If our first NYE trip is fun, I would love to invite friends to join us on another one. :goodvibes

This will be our fourth trip in a row for NYE! :woohoo:

We have three studios reserved, one for us and the other two for family. The one room might have to be canceled eventually. The one room is for the oldest kid and he starts a new job today. Lots of uncertainity wether he will actually be able to go or not. But we rather book and cancel the room then not have one waiting for him.

That's great! We have 2 DS's and our youngest (30yrs) just isn't interested in WDW, although he comes sometimes under duress. He may be joking, but he just got finished a trip of his dreams, 2 months backpacking/mostly roughing it through Southeast Asia. So maybe he's not joking.
:lmao:
