Just booked VWL for Dec 30 and 31. Will be adding two more nights. Will be fun. We have never been for New Year's before.

Me neither Alice. Never even thought of doing such a busy time. But all these wonderful posts, and trip reports, about NYE made me change my mind. I'm about as far from commando as one can get so I don't know why I thought about crowds anyway. I've done a couple of no park trips but I certainly want to go in on this trip to feel the excitement.

Well not really singing. Tongue and cheek. They'd probably hang up with my singing.

But since I'm competing against all of you saying 4 digits and I have to get out four lines just let's say it flowed into quite a "melody" this morning.

I got the grand villa at OKW for New Year's Eve. Now if the waitlist for the 30th will just come through. The CM I had today was much quicker. I made a backup reservation for the 30th at BCV for a studio and a 2 bedroom. I just hate all that moving.

I just got my NYE booking. Right now I have dec 28-jan 1. We are going to stay until the 3rd so I have to finish the ressie, but I got the 31st.

My sentiments to you, wintergreen as well!! Our first NYE visit, and must say that I'm surprising myself by going for it! DH told me this morning, that he's glad we're doing this, too!

I just got my NYE booking. Right now I have dec 28-jan 1. We are going to stay until the 3rd so I have to finish the ressie, but I got the 31st.

Booking a 2BR at SSR for NYE checking in on Sunday, Dec 28th and checking out on Saturday, Jan 2nd. Got the BIG Dec 31st today (4th day of calling day by day). Each day is getting quicker and easier. The 407 phone number is much easier. May extend to Jan 3rd but will call at the 7 month mark so I can use my OKW points so I do not have to borrow points from SSR Dec 2009 use year. There are 4 of us but MS always want to know how many children and adults etc. We haven't asked any family or friends to join us yet. I can always share my obsessive compulsive planning disease with my DISboard friends.

Well that went a lot smoother today. Dialed in at 8:59:30am today and was talking to a nice CM by 9:01. Having my reservation open smoothed the process even more.

She had to put me on hold to call Special Needs (the one flaw in the reservation system IMHO) but I was done by 9:08. (Just in time for my BIL to call and ask me to babysit my nephews. They have a snow day today.)

So I just need to call tomorrow and I'm officially done the planning. (Well until Southwest puts out the NYE tickets.)

For all those wanting to do a meet & greet, several of us SSR owners have already floated the idea of a gathering at the SSR NYE party.

I expect my group will be leading the all night EMH hopping. 4am at MK on Dec 30 was a blast.

on the 407 number. My husband stayed on hold (love to sing along!) for 98 minutes. I finally picked up my cell phone and dialed the 407 and was finished in 16 minutes. He thinks he was lost in "hold"

That seems like a long time on hold? Did you eventually get thru? I dialed the 800 number right before 9am, of course with the kids trying to talk to me at the same time since school was cancelled because of ice, and it was busy already. I immediately called the 407 number and had to wait only a few minutes. I didn't want to chance not getting NYE since this will be our first!

I tried calling from my cell the first day, but my coverage from the house is iffy and I didn't want to get cutoff part way through the call.

Now I only have three more days of calls. We are planning on staying from the 27th to Jan 4th on points and booked the 26th for one night on cash with the discount. We are staying in a studio to stretch points and figure we spend so much time in the parks. And that gave us points that we borrowed for a long weekend in Oct for MNSSHP!

The only thing that I would have liked would be the washing machine. We don't usually cook and are happy just to have the coffee pot in the morning.

Woohoo! I started calling at 8:58AM today, got through right away (CM Myrtle said that I was her first call of the day!), and got NYE added at the BWV. After last year's disappointment, I'm thrilled to have what I want. Next comes 11 months of waiting!

I'm happy for you. This seems to be one night that the waitlist doesn't work particularly well...at the BWV at least.

After much thought i just realize i didnt have enough BCV points to book our entire stay at bcv for NYE, i booked 3 nights at AKL (2) rooms (family or friends in the second room, depends on who can make the commitment first) and then moving to BCV for NYE in (2) rooms for the rest of the time. I have to admit its not fun calling everyday and getting the busy signal all the time, i think i hear the busy signal in my sleep now

I actually forgot to call at opening this morning I was able to add 1 more night to our ressie so

We are at SSR and I think that bathroom thread scared everybody off, so I am sleeping in tomorrow I'll call when I wake up

We have points at all the onsite DVC's except VWL, but really love SSR and I am looking forward to the festivities and the meet!

We're finished...4 nights in BWV standard!! It actually took me longer today and whew...I was happy when she said it was available. I added on the basic dining plan because DDE is blacked out for NYE and NYday.

I hope everyone who has posted here is as successful as we've been!!!
