HI

I will be staying on site (pop century) during NYE. And I have read different threads regarding which park to spend NYE in. But does anyone have any suggestions of any sites out side of the park to enjoy and still see the fireworks display? For example would anyone suggest one of the other Resorts, what type of viewing do they offer? Or what about Downtown Disney?

Or would my best bet be to just stay with a park?

Thank you

Since I have never been at WDW for New Years, I'm going to bump this back to page one for you. I'm sure some of our Disney veterans can offer advice on this topic.

We've never been for NYE before, but we are planning on eating dinner at 'Ohana and then, depending on how the little ones are doing, maybe watching the MK fireworks from the Poly beach. If we didn't have little kids, we'd be in one of the parks, probably Epcot. You didn't mention if you have small children, but that's the decision maker for me.

More info about this would be very much appreciated - we'll be there too, with our children's high school marching band!

We're heading to Epcot for NYE. It's just DH and I. We are coming a long way to spend some time at WDW and we plan on being in a park on NYE.

we're actually doing new years at WDW for the second time!

we are going to also have dinner at ohana's (9:30 pm), watch wishes before that from the beach at the poly, then probably watch the late fireworks from our room.

last year, we did the whole pleasure island thing. It was cool, but i don't think we'll do it again just because there are other ways to spend that amount of money and actually have a good time. Just my thoughts :D

My DD age 11 will be accompanying me and we will be staying on-site, but not at one of the resorts that are close to the parks. I've read some of the posts that suggest Magic Kingdom is so crowded and waiting with the crowds for a bus going back to the resorts can be frustrating.

I was curious to know what other resort or area can provide a good view of the fireworks without the hassle of being in the parks. And without having to be bothered with the overcrowded lines waiting to get a shuttle. I understand where ever I go there will be a wait for a shuttle, but I figure some places may be less of a hassle than others.

Or is there a restaurant where I can view the festivites while dining. I've read that Ohana's is a good one. I'll probably have to call priority seating to see how late these restaurants will be opened during NYE.
Thank you
