Go ahead. I want to see NYE 2016/2017 was like crowd wise. Share your photos! park entry, rides, main street, whatever!

we are going to brave it after a late morning ADR at Ohana at 9, I imagine we won't be at MK until 11am. We will preplan 3 fastpasses, and will leave early for dinner at 515 at 1900 park fare. we expect to not have a full day, mostly just enjoy the atmosphere.

and then fireworks but the earlier show. we want an early morning head start at MK on the 1st.

so go ahead, show me what I am in for! lol!

I do MK on the 30th to see their Nye fireworks then, and then epcot on the 31st so I see both parks Nye shows without having to deal with the nightmare of leaving mk on the 31st. So I only have picks of Epcot, like living with the land with a 50 min wait lol.

One thing I'll recommend though, if you're at Disney for Nye, I'd strongly recommend staying in the park and seeing the NYE fireworks. The show at 7:30 is not the same as the one for 11:50, same goes for epcot. Epcot's Nye fireworks were probably the best fireworks I've ever seen. They really go all out for Epcot's and MK's Nye shows

oh oh oh we love NYE in Disney!!! we've been twice now and we love spending it in Epcot, it is so organized with the crowd flow. they have cm everywhere with signs helping you. the fireworks go off @ every country it is so cool, be sure and just get a good spot. we stood in front of France!! so much fun and I love the bands playing everywhere! so much fun!!

We've gone for NYE a bunch of times, always MK on 12/30 and Epcot 12/31 so we can see both NYE fireworks shows (MK does the same show on 12/30 and 12/31.) It's super crowded but I've never really thought to take photos of the crowd because we are so busy enjoying ourselves, having fun, etc. we only have photos of our family. We have no photos of the general atmosphere.

I highly recommend staying for the later show. As a PP mentioned the early fireworks at both parks are NOT the same. The late shows are absolutely incredible.

Thanks for the pics, Epcot looks manageable tbh. This is exactly our plan for this year. MK on 12-30 to see both shows. The website does say it's "Fantasy in the Sky" at 6:30 and 11:50. I am assuming that is wrong. I'd prefer Holiday Wishes at 6:30. We even are doing a dessert party for the 11:50 fireworks to have a good spot and get away from the crowds a bit.

We're doing Epcot on the 31st. Crowded I am sure, but we at least have dinner at 7 to get away from the crowds a bit. One time at F&W either in 2014 or 2015, it was absolutely mobbed that day. We survived; so I think that prepared us a bit for the crowds in WS.

Any tips for Epcot or MK for these days would be appreciated! Thanks for confirming the special fireworks these nights are great, they're kinda the reason we booked this trip; we're looking forward to both shows on both nights!

Thanks for starting this thread, we will be there too for our first Christmas week trip. I am nervous about the crowds, but I think we will manage it well. Hopefully anyway. We have an ADR at BOG on the 30th, and then one on the 31st in France. I hope it works out!

Here's some photos from epcot. The first pic is me taking the turn to go to epcot and the cars to the left are the line to get into MK
Holy lines for living with the land! I dont drive to the parks but i will assume that line of traffic to mk is brutal.
Whats with the drink station? Yumm

Yea line for MK was a slow creep for about 2 miles back or so.

In epcot they have out various drink stands serving champagne and beer. Which is the cheapest beer I've ever seen on property at $5 a cup

We wanted BOG on the 30th but didn't get it even at 180 days (The 30th is our arrival date, which I think was the problem), If you cancel, let me know! ;) We did end up booking the Skipper Canteen and the plaza viewing party for the 11:50 fireworks. I think the party will be a nice break from the crowds that night.

That sounds like it would make the crowds more bearable. We are hoping for the 6:30 illuminations FP+, then we need to rush over to Chefs de France for an ADR at 7. I wish I made it for 7:15 but I wasn't thinking about the crowds.

Was thinking about NYE today! Post below is Epcot 12/31 Japan silent dj. Love Epcot never felt overly crowded! Made dinner reservation 12/31 for 9pm in China. 12/30 is a toss up right now reservations for 10pm dessert party or O'Hana 9pm dinner and watch early and late fireworks from the poly.

When it's near capacity crowded (e.g., NYE), do the FP+ queues get backed up at all? Or are they still the usual 5-10 mins (with occasional backups due to stoppages, etc)?
